Where do i keep my trombone? In the cupboard under the stairs. How often does it see daylight? Once a week. Wherefore we could presume that I dont like the instrument? Not true at all. Its just that its so damn heavy and my cupboard is so full of stuff I put holes in the walls attempting to remove it. I get lessons in my school for my trombone, hence the once a week, apparently i have talent and 'If only you practised you'd be really good'. But as good as my intentions are i just cannot bare to lift the big thing out of its antique case and practise it. I had been looking for a new symphonic bore Trombone for years and never quite had the money to get to London to look for one in the shops up there. I had heard about the Conn series, especially the Conn88H. A beautiful instrument that I sometimes borrowed from my teacher. And so I got to London, looking for a new Trombone, I tried out several including the hallowed Conn88H, benchmark for the tenor trombone- but the Open wrap version caught my eye. The 88H is the closed wrap model and, as with the majority of closed wrap Bb/F trombones is a little stuffy in the lower registers with the plug open.
