Advantages: cheap, good sound, good quality, plays well

Disadvantages: no built in pickup, brand snobbery

I bought my LL6 a few years ago, mainly because it was relatively cheap for the quality, having a solid wood front (which means it will have better sound quality). I thought the sound would be pretty good. But when i got it i was really surprised at how good it did sound. This has only got better as the guitar seems to have been broken in, after recently putting some new strings on it sounding really good. Even my old guitar teacher who has an expensive custom made one says that it has a great sound. As well it is really easy to play, not having too bad an action, and with some narrow guage strings being really easy

Also the pearl design around the sound hole looks really nice; something which is typical on more expensive guitars. and with the 3 piece neck and good quality tuning pegs it is a quality piece of equipment.

The only problems that there are really are that there is no inbuilt pickup or internal microphone, so if you want to play gigs it is not ideal, as you need to buy a pretty decent pickup like the fishman rare earth to due it justice through a PA or amplifier and that some people get a bit snobby about yamaha guitars as they dont have the status of a gibson or whatever, however if you do get a yamaha, the quality will be a lot better than that of a fender or gibson acoustic of the same price, so that would be a "quiet victory" is suppose.

In short, the LL6 is a brilliant guitar great warm sound and is made really well and feels solid, so its a good shout for anyone wanting a decent guitar for not too much money

Summary: great guitar for beginner to pro
