Excellent Intermediate purchase (Yamaha Pacifica 012)
Member Name: mh42
Advantages: Light, good versitile sound Disadvantages: None that I can see really I think this may have been my first non-budget guitar. Bought over 8 years ago I still have mine today and it still plays as well as it ever did. Out of the box the action is nice and the mixture of two single coil pickups and one humbucker gives good variance on the tonal front to make this guitar quite versitile. Recently I have changed the pickups as the humbucker has died but given the initial cost and age of the guitar this isnt too big a deal for me. Body is well balanced although the tuners could do with replacing as they arent the most reliable things in the world! Guitar has a good sound for the price with reasonable clean sounds and using the stock humbucker a decent distorted sound. Can sound quite thin for more heavier styles of music but that is to be expected with such a versitile instrument Summary: Excellent Intermediate purchase, excellent for the price |
