Advantages: crisp clean sound, easy to use, has all the main features a guitar needs

Disadvantages: you have to buy the extra equipment as well

This was my first guitar, and I can safely say that I would recommend it to anybody starting to play the guitar. It is pretty easy to learn on. It has fret markers, which are dots on certain frets so that you know where you are when playing, making it easier to play tabbed music.

The pickups are pretty good on the Yamaha, giving you a clean and crisp sound, there are five different pickup settings that you can use, this basically means that you choose which pickups will "pick-up" the sound more, but for those who haven't played guitar before, you need an amplifier to go with it, or else you might as well get an acoustic guitar.

The strings are easy enough to attach, although you should get somebody to help you first time around. You will need a tuner so you can tune the strings to the perfect pitch. The yamaha also comes with a whammy bar, which you probably wont need yet but is useful to have.

I really recommend this guitar, however, dont be fooled by imitations such as the fender stratocaster because this is the higher quality guitar.

Summary: 10/10
