Label M Miracle Fibre
by Doglovers
Label M is part of the Toni & Guy franchise, primarily sold in their hair salons, but is also available from online retailers.
Miracle Fibre is one of the products my hairdresser uses to finish my hair . They use loads of products and as my hair alwa ys looks great after the hairdresser has styled my hair , I usually buy ... what they use in an attempt to create the same effect at home.
The Product
This comes in a black plastic container with a pump action dispenser.
It is a finishing product that adds texture and support to your hair and can be used on any length of hair.
Application
After washing and blow drying simply take a pump - less is always more I think, so I start with a pea size in my palm and then rub my palms together to warm the product and distribute it . Make sure you do this as if not the product will be difficult to distribute through your hair.
I simply run my hands through my hair quite roughly so it looks tousled and messy and then start to smooth my hair down . I take it through all the lengths of my hair , which is quite short and then play and tweak to create the effect I want.
I like my hair to have lift from the underneath , but not too high and I also like it to look what I describe as piecey, so it looks quite textured and has definition. So once I have applied I just run my fingers upwards lifting the hair where I want volume and then picking up pieces and running my fingers down the length to create texture.
I always apply a small amount first as you can always add but not take away finishing products and if I need more I simply repeat the process. The product is white and looks a bit like copydex glue, but once warmed in your hands the colour disappears and it is really easy to get a great style with very little effort.
It feels quite sticky in my hands but if you only use a little you can barely feel the product, more and it starts to feel like a wax on your hair. If you want you can sculpt your hair with this and create a lot of texture - simply twist the product into pieces of hair. I also use it to smooth down stray pieces of hair when I wake up with bed head hair.
The results
I love this product firstly because it is easy to control how much you dispense and it smells gorgeous. It gives great lift and volume and you can create a light texture or really messy sculpted hair.
It has great staying power and as I usually go for a light texture, if I feel that has disappeared I just mess my hair up and then smooth and tweak and I can restyle.
It doesn't feel sticky or crunchy and my hair still feels like hair, unless I go for the really messy look. If my hair looks really messy in the morning, I usually just use my hairdyer to calm down the stray hairs and then apply a small amount of the miracle fibre and restyle my hair.
You can't really go wrong with this product as it is really easy to work through your hair and it seems to work like a hairspray and keeps my hair in place , yet my hair still feels soft to the touch.
I sometimes blast dry my hair really roughly and then use this to style, so if are in a rush it is quick and easy to use.
I love the dispenser as it is really easy to just take a small amount without wasting the product. The only issue being that you can't see how much is left.
I expect this will last me ages though as one pump or two pumps is sufficient to style my hair.
A 250ml can costs12.95 but they do travel size 50ml for £3.50. I buy mine from a Toni and Guy salon who also have an online shop. Read the complete review |

label.m Resurrection Style Dust
by PandaEyes
Label M is a range of professional haircare products often used in hairdressers. I get my hair cut in Toni & Guy and they always use the Label M products to wash and style my hair. This resurrection style dust is one of the final products they would use on my hair if I wanted some volume in it. Very recently they have brought out a ... brunette version of the resurrection style dust, obviously designed for brunettes as the white one can be quite visible in dark hair if not worked in properly!
Label m state: "Miracle powder designed to add incredible depth and iridescent shine to brunette hair tones for enhanced volume and dynamic texture. The fine, light and smooth particles easily absorb into hair for perfect distribution, effortless backcombing and the ability to revive and rework your style throughout the day by simply massaging at the roots."
Up until the last time I went to the hairdressers they had often used the white resurrection dust but I had never bought any until last week after they used the new brunette one on me. Other hair product brands have brought out their own resurrection style dusts and so I ended up buying one from V05 over a year ago as I didn't like to use it everyday, mostly only for a night out and so I thought it would be a lot to pay for a Label M one if only using it now and again.
The reason why I don't like to use it everyday being that it leaves your hair feeling very dry and with a sticky feel to it. However, the brunette one doesn't seem as bad as the others. The hairdresser advised me it doesn't seem to leave your hair feeling as bad as the other dust does, although she was unsure why as the product was just new in that day. When she used it, I had a feel of my hair after and it did still feel soft, and the volume effect it left in my hair was very good. I decided to buy some thinking I could start using it for during the day and not just nights out.
To use, you basically sprinkle this directly onto the hair where required and you can either massage in slightly with your fingertips, putting your hair back in place after, or by backcombing. I lift parts of my hair up and sprinkle underneath, before combing in, so the top layer of my hair is still soft and lies on top of the parts with the dust in it. Therefore I am not paranoid about what my hair feels like too much. If you keep having a little play with your hair now and again throughout the day the dust will keep working, and there is no need to reapply this.
I have found the sticky but dry feeling it leaves my hair only gets very bad if using this product two days in a row without washing the hair in between. The dust is hard to get rid of and is still in my hair from the day before and so I don't apply this again on the second day. However, if you usually wash your hair everyday anyway then you won't have this problem.
The resurrection style dust is available online from the Label M website or in Toni & Guy salons. The white one comes in a few different sizes online and it works out better value for money if you buy the bigger one. The brunette dust is only available in one size - 3.5g and is priced at £12. It does seem a bit pricey but as only a small amount of dust is needed at a time it will last for quite some time. I definitely think it is worth paying more for this than the similar dusts available from other brands as it doesn't leave your hair feeling as bad and definitely works at keeping your hair volumised for much longer. You only need to apply this once and it will keep, especially when finished with a little spritz of hairspray. Read the complete review |

Label M Sea Salt Spray
by Doglovers
Label M is a product that is part of the Toni and Guy hair care range. Toni and Guy hair salons have been around since the early 1960's and they now have franchised hair salons worldwide. They are at the forefront of the industry and involved with creating hair for leading designer catwalk shows.
I have my hair cut at one of ... their salons and over the years they have introduced me to some of my favourite hair products from brands such as Kerastase and Tigi , but now they mainly use Label M and Sea Salt spray was one of the products they used on my hair last time I had it cut.
To be honest the stylists always run through all the products they use because they want you to buy them , but Sea Salt spray was recommended as I was struggling styling my hair at home as I sometime find holding the hairdryer difficult. I don't always buy everything , but the products they use are generally very good and unlike some things I buy I always use them until they are finshed.
My hair dresser suggested sea salt spray as this would create volume and texture without spending ages blow-drying my hair. So I decided to give it a try.
A lot of the styling products in the range come in very simple plain white cans with the brand, product name and instructions in black writing.
Sea Salt spray generally comes in a 200 ml can and is £12.25 from Toni and Guy salons. If you buy online from Toni and Guy you can buy a much smaller size either to try or as a travel size - 50ml for £3.50 or a larger 500ml version for £18.15.
The Product
This is a styling product that you spray in your hair and is designed to create texture or slightly messy styles and it also protects your hair from the heat of hairdryers, other styling tools and UV rays.
The directions on the can say to spray on damp or dry hair for a thicker matt effect, which doesn't tell you much , but I guess they assume you also go to Toni and Guy and the stylist has explained, which is true in my case.
I spray this after towel drying and brush through my hair then blast with the hairdryer just running my fingers through my hair until it is nearly dry and then I use a brush to style as I can't style properly at the moment and can only manage a couple of minutes . What I have found using this spray is I get great volume without too much effort , great shine and then I create a little texture by spraying some in my palms and tousle in my dry hair. This gives separation and a texture so my hair looks piecey - sorry I don't know how else to describe the effect.
I have short fine hair and I normally have to wash every day because when you have short layered hair like mine I wake up with my hair sticking up everywhere and normally wetting certain parts applying smoothing products and attempting a restyle makes it look worse than when I started .
Since using this spray, I am able to calm down the sticky out bits by spending a minute with the hairdryer and it nearly looks as good as after first washing and styling, plus it retains the volume. For me this is a major selling point as I don't have to wash and style every day and my hair looks great.
I also love is that my hair does not feel like I have loads of styling product in it , which is something that happens particularly with products that add volume and I end up with sections of hair that feels crunchy and straw like, which I hate. (My hair did go crunchy when I got soaked in the rain)
This has made such a difference to my hair as it is so quick and easy to style and restyle the day after. This is brilliant for me as I am not a morning person and this product has cut down the time I usually spend faffing with my hair to make myself look presentable for work.
I love the smell of this spray because it does smell like the sea and the ingredients include sea salt and algae extract.
The can is fully recyclable
Label M are against animal testing.
Would I Recommend
Absolutely, this is a recent discovery that has made my hair much easier to style, create volume, texture and shine and I wake up with hair that is good to go with a few tweaks, which makes this product invaluable to me. I have short hair so I don't need to use lots so this will last me quite a while even though I use a generous amount . It has a shelf life of 2 years once opened.
Availability
Label M is a professional hair care range sold only in professional salons. Most cities have a Toni and Guy salon but if not you can buy online and you can try this in a 50ml size for £ 3.50 , 200ml £12.25 and 500ml for £18.15.
It isn't cheap, but I am not using as many products or shampooing my hair as often.
Creates texture and long lasting volume.
