Stargazer Hair Dye
by lyndsey1989 So on my quest for bright pink hair I decided that actually instead of being brown and pink I wanted to be blonde and pink. After sorting the brown to blonde I decided that the pink could do with some brightening up and as I had bought some of this Stargazer hair dye online and it had been delivered I decided to give it a ... try. I bought this after recommendation from someone else when I asked about a bright hair colour. I bought mine from ebay where I paid around the £4.20 mark including delivery. I think this is a good price as the Live Colour XXL I had previously been using has now gone back to its usual RRP of £5.47 in Asda so there is a small saving to be made. The dye I bought was the UV pink colour. I didnt necessarily want UV hair but I wanted bright bright pink hair and it sounded like this may do the job. The dye comes in a small box with a picture of a model with pink hair on the front. Instructions are printed on the box so make sure you dont throw this away! Inside the box you get the dye and some gloves. The dye is pre-mixed which I thought was brilliant because I seem to spend a lifetime pretending I'm a scientist and mixing different parts of the dye together. To use, you simply remove the cap, snip the end of the nib of the bottle and you are ready to go. The dye is a dark pink colour and is actually almost purple. However, once I had got a little bit of this over the bathroom it was definitely bright pink! The dye has quite a thick consistency and is thicker than most dyes. I like this because it means I have less chance of dropping bits everywhere. I found the dye thick and smooth and when I applied it to my hair I felt that it went on well. The dye took about ten minutes to apply to about 60% of my hair which I thought was good. I found it easy to get all of my hair and it was definitely one of the easier dyes I have applied. Once on, you leave to develop for 15-20 minutes and then rinse out. I left my dye for about 20 minutes and then rinsed. It took a while to rinse all of the colour out of my hair but, again it was quicker than some other dyes I have used. Once dry my hair was definitely pink. It is quite a dark pink but this is because I applied it on top of an already darkish pink - the few bits that I applied to blonde hair are bright pink and look nice and bright. I was surprised by how soft and healthy my hair felt after using this dye because it didnt come with a conditioner and I didnt use one either but my hair looks and feels better than it did prior to application. My hair looks shiny and my friend complimented me saying it looked good which was a nice surprise!! The colour does fade but I dont think that it fades as much as some other colours I have used. It is a semi-permanent dye and I have only washed it once but it has remained bright and shiny. I think I will use this dye again. The colour isnt quite as bright as I would have liked but it is easy to apply and it is cheaper than the other dye I had been using. Applying it once every 6-8 washes wont be too much hassle if I decide to stay blonde and pink but I am contemplating going back blonde all over....we shall see! However, Stargazer is definitely a brand I would buy again without hesitation if I wanted bright hair colour. Read the complete review |

Stargazer Hair Dye
by chloeandchichi I have been dying my hair for a long time and have dyed it all colours of the rainbow, but had never been blonde. So I ended up going Toni and Guy, got my hair blonde and decided I really would love to have some baby pink flashes through my hair. They did this and although it really did look nice, I couldn't help but think it was a ... little too subtle and I really wanted a more vibrant and noticeable look. I looked around town and found a few products but nothing really jumped out at me. I then stumbled upon a little shop in town that was only there a few months so thought I'd have a look. At the back I found some of these stargazer semi-permanent hair dyes and they were only £3...I thought to myself that they're probably not going to be that great because they were so cheap and would more than likely wash out straight away. I purchased one anyway because I thought hey it's only £3 what can I lose! I am so so glad I did, these lttle gems are brilliant and I don't think I will be using another product for a long time other than this as I am so satisfied in everyway with it. It is unbelieveable just how vibrant it is and how long it actually last in your hair, also as it fades it does not turn a horrible orange colour like so many other products I have used but it stays that lovely baby pink colour I love so much. It comes in a box and is a little bottle just like at home hair dye's...you literally put it straight on your head, no mixing or anything. I did use a plastic bowl and tint brush though to make it easier for myself to do the flashes. It also does tell you on the box to shampoo your hair and towel dry before putting it on, but I did hear that it works best on dry hair, so that is what I chose to do. It also says to leave on for 15-30 minutes, and I left it on the full half hour (probably abit longer as I'm terrible for it) The colour of the dye in the clear bottle is a beautiful pink but I did not think it would actually turn my hair that colour! Well I washed it out after half hour and dried it, and loved it instantly. So so vibrant. It was that gorgeous baby pink but so luminous aswell! My hair was not left feeling damaged in anyway, and it is a semi-permanent dye anyway which is good. I did a few flashes in my hair with the dye, and I have hardly touched it. There is still plenty plenty more applications for me when it has faded alot. Obviously if you are doing your whole head it will take quite abit and depending on the length you may need more than one bottle, but for around £3...who cares! One word of warning I will give, is that the dye is bright pink already before putting on, so be ever so careful when applying. Make sure to wear old clothes and use old towels. Also be very careful when washing out, because believe me you will get in a mess! Thankyou so much for reading and really hope I have helped some of you :-) Read the complete review |

Stargazer Hair Dye
by purplekimmy I have been dying my hair for years and have been everything from blonde to red, brown, pink, purple and everything inbetween, in fact the only colour I haven't been is black! My natural hair colour is brown with a hint of grey, I am getting married next September so am waiting for the plum colour in my hair to grow out as I don't know ... what I intend to do with my hair yet. Over the years I have used wash in wash out colours, permanent and semi colours, powders, creams, tubes, bottles and cartons and not all hair dyes work as well as others. A friend of mine had been raving about Stargazer products; I had tried a few but hadn't gone near their hair dye. After being handed a packet of Plume hair dye (Deep purple) I couldn't get to the bathroom quick enough. The packet has a ladies face on whose hair id the colour of the hair dye, it gives instructions on the packet and after familiarising myself with said instructions we were ready to go. We had decided that I should go purple all over!! (Why not) and after freaking out for a while, gave in and allowed my 'friend' to apply the dye to my hair. My hair was a medium brown shade before hand and I was very excited to see what shade it would now go. I left (as instructed) the dye on my hair for 20 minutes, it didn't smell unpleasant and it defiantly wasn't as overpowering as some dyes can be. After 20 minutes I washed my hair out and was not overly impressed with the results. I had purple streaks in my hair which was not the worst outcome ever; but the colour had not taken on most of my hair, which was a shame. The parts that had taken were a lovely colour; it was semi-permanent which I was rather glad about. In fact had I not pointed out the different streaks to people, it wasn't really that noticeable. After two and a half weeks, the colour had pretty much gone completely. It was a shame because had it worked all over my hair, it would have been the most awesome hair colour ever. I won't be buying the colour again, I don't know when I will dye my hair again but when I do I won't be using this. At £4 it isn't the most expensive dye on the market but you still expect it to work. Disappointing. Read the complete review |
