Pleasant aroma and pleasantly surpriised all around!

I've been growing my hair long for my wedding next year and - with me tying it back so much as I'm not used to the length, plus also cutting back on luxuries - it's not had much love of late! However, a friend recently started up Avon and I've found the promotions really good value, plus it also helps her out to buy that way. So last month I ordered up both the shampoo & conditioner and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't sure what to expect as I haven't used any Avon hair products in the past, but I expected it to be comparable to say, a supermarket own brand. Not so. The shampoo is nice and thick, which reminds me of a leading brand I've used in the past when I've had more money to splash out. The lather feels really luxurious too. Scent wise, I have to agree with other reviews I've read and confirm that it is pleasantly fresh and not in any way overpowering. There is definitely a hint of fruit also; which I'm normally funny about in hair products but I rather liked it! I definitely found that even without conditioner, it has a de-tangling action. My hair felt smoother even just when rinsing. There was no residue left over. I was mildly concerned that the fact it was a 'shine' shampoo might leave my hair looking greasy (as it is quite fine) or flat (the length pulls it down) but I am genuinely happy to report that there was a marked difference in shine. Plus my hair felt much softer and the fragrance lasted quite a while. Even my partner commented and he never notices things like these ;)

        .

I always used to be more brand loyal when it came to a lot of different products and Haircare was 1 of the things that I used to only use a couple of different ones. I always thought the more expensive ones done the best job but after trying a few different cheaper ones I have found that brand isn't always best. Then again Avon is a brand isn't it? You can buy Avon products from an Avon rep if you have 1 in your area or through the Avon website. Often you can find the products on e-bay for a not bad price as well. This bottle looks the same as the picture on here. Nothing all that exciting. Just a sturdy plastic bottle with a flip top lid and a simple label on the front. This Shampoo is suitable for all hair types. I do like to use one which is good for greasy Hair but I have got into the Argan Oil Shampoo from Avon which is for all Hair types as well so when I spotted this at a special offer price then I thought it was worth a buy. This comes in a 250ml bottle. can't think the right price of this as Avon usually has special offers on their products but I paid £1.40 for it which I think it around half the normal price. When I opened this I got a whiff of a nice scent. The smell of this is nice and fresh and I would say that there is a slight fruity scent to this perhaps an Apple type scent. It is nice and after washing my Hair and using the matching conditioner as well and then drying I can say that I can smell this scent lightly on my Hair which is nice. This is a medium thickness Shampoo and is more a cream than a gel. Just a little blob of this lathers up well and seems to give a deep down clean and plenty of Foam. This rinses out easily as well. So how do I find this works on my Hair? Well as I mentioned my Hair is greasy but the ends are a little dry. I find that this washes just fine and doesn't seem to dry my hair out and the grease seems to stay away for the usual 2 days between washes. I can't say that this adds loads of Shine to my hair personally, but it looks shiny enough and is nice and soft. A good Shampoo and a lovely fresh scent. Worth a try especially if it is on offer.

A lovely rich shampoo that cleanses well and leaves hair feeling beautifully smooth

~~The Product; 'Advance Techniques Daily Shine Shampoo' ~ '"WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE: RAPUNZEL - For horse thieving, kidnapping, jail breaking, and using her hair in a manner other than nature intended! - REWARD"~~ The shampoo comes in a lovely sheeny plastic container. With a mixture of green and black lettering the product details adorn the packaging. The reverse of the label has some of the general symbols such as the one indicating shelf life, twelve months in this case. Also the recycling arrow sign along with a triangular symbol surrounding the number two. Underneath this symbol are the letters HDPE. {Simply as supplementary information this shows that this denotes properties of 'toughness, strength, stiffness, ease of forming, ease of processing, resistance to moisture and chemicals, permeability to gas' and an interesting statistic shows that in '1999 HDPE accounted for 47% of plastic bottle resin sales, making it the second most widely used resin in plastic bottles. HDPE and PETE together accounted for 95% of plastic bottle resin usage'. Furthermore, 'bottles made from HDPE come in both pigmented and unpigmented resins. The unpigmented resin is translucent. It also has good stiffness and barrier properties. Thus, it is ideal for packaging products having a short shelf-life such as milk. HDPE's good chemical resistance allows it to be used in containers holding household or industrial chemicals. The pigmented resin has even better crack resistance and chemical resistance than the unpigmented resin'- http://www.earthodyssey.com/symbols.html} Avon claim, through a study of 100 people that the shampoo 'Gently cleanses hair and leaves it looking shiny, soft and healthy'; I put this enthusiastic statement to the test! ~~My Usage Experience ~ '"Man, Grandma, what big hair you have." "The better to style with, my dear."~~ I am quite a fan of Avon products and purchased this shampoo through my local Avon representative. I find the Avon shampoos to be generally very good and when on offer, 'the real deal'! The bottle has a practical flip top lid, with a grooved finger indentation to promote easy access. Upon first opening no apparent scent is detected but a closer examination furnished the senses with a very distinct gorgeous aroma. This is due to the ingredient Amyl Cinnamal; it 'functions as a fragrance ingredient'. The beautiful balmy scent smells like an expensive rich cream with very subtle floral fruity notes. This is a real plus when applying the shampoo because the aromas disperse and become ever more apparent in the small shower cubicle with the lovely warm shower steam enveloping the space. My hair presently tends to be a little on the dry side but after a couple of days turns somewhat greasy in parts only to be amended by a thorough shampooing! So I thought I'd give this product, noted as being for 'all hair types' a try. I was not disappointed! I reached in the shower and turned on the dial onto the warm setting. I have found that although I prefer a hotter setting, it simply dries out my hair after! My hair is fairly long at the moment, half way down my back but although fine, I still need to apply a good measure, roughly dessert size spoonful of shampoo into the palm of my hand. The fluid runs out fairly thick and smooth onto my hand, an absolute delight to apply. The richness of this creamy shimmering silvery liquid feels like I am using a very expensive lustrous product. I begin to gently knead the product into my scalp working my way down to the lower strands of my hair massaging the foamy suds into an impressive full bodied lather. The shampoo is so soft on my scalp and feels velvety smooth as it combines with the delicate spray of warm water. I find no need to reapply a second application as after rinsing well the first time, my hair feels amazingly clean and supple. I do not use a hair dryer much these days, as my hair is on the dryer scale I feel that this will not be an advantage. So allowing my hair to dry naturally after a brief towel dry I begin to notice the fragrance. I am very pleased that this product leaves a most refreshing aroma on the hair, a bouquet I can still sense a day later after washing my hair. The shampoo contains the ingredient Abyssinica Seed Oil which provides moisturization 'with a non-greasy after-feel' and 'is also desirable for providing emolliency and gloss to highly loaded pigment systems'. I can personally vouch for this! My hair feels so enriched, bouncy and full of life after washing my hair in this cleansing product. I suffer no dandruff after using the shampoo and running a brush or comb through my hair with ease indicates that the shampoo has left my hair untangled, glossy and sleek. No matter which style I choose, the shampoo has furnished me with frictionless and easy to manage hair. ~~Would I recommend? ~ "If I want to knock a story off the front page, I just change my hairstyle." - Hillary Rodham Clinton~~ Absolutely! This shampoo is testament to the hype in that it truly does 'Gently' cleanse 'hair and leaves it looking shiny, soft and healthy'. The product is well worth its recommended price but is presently on a saving of £1.40 less, from £2.80 down to £1.40. That is a real bargain at 56p per 100ml! The product is available online through the Avon web site: or through your local Avon representative. http://avonshop.co.uk Thank you for taking the time to read my review on this 'hair raising' shampoo :~)
