Alberto Balsam Anti-Oxidant Pomegranate Conditioner
Advantages: cheap, look, style, smell, effect
Disadvantages: only for everyday
I found this pomegranate conditioner (and matching shampoo) in poundland recently and having loved these alberto balsam products for a while I decided to try them.
I don't tend to buy a lot of very expensive shampoos and conditioners, though I have tried my fair few. I prefer to buy budget and so these shampoos and conditioners are perfect because their price always falls around the £1 mark so you don't need to shop around for the best deal.
The bottle is pretty simple but practical. It is quite tall and circular in shape, with a black plastic lid and clear frosted body. A label sits across the body of the bottle and displays the branding and information about the product. The bottle isn't exactly cutting edge design but for £1 does it really need to be? You can see how much contents is left, it looks nice and it is totally functional: all you could really ask for.
The colour of the conditioner also adds something to the design element. This conditioner is a beautiful red/purple colour and is slightly more muted than the shampoo as it is mixed with cream to make an almost pastel shade. The bottle has a flip top lid with a small hole in the top through which you could squeeze the conditioner. The plastic of the bottle is also really soft which makes it easy to squeeze out even when there is not much left.
The conditioner has a wonderfully fruity, almost floral, scent to it which really compliments the conditioner. This pomegranate flavour isn't as sharp or punchy as some of the others in the range but it still has a beautiful smell which holds in your hair all day. The conditioner is also very smooth and light in consistency, not overly thick which I find for everyday use is pretty perfect. I do find when I go out for a special occasion that I will opt for a slightly more expensive and luxurious conditioner as a bit of a treat, but for everyday use this works very well.
The product leaves my hair feeling clean and soft and certainly keeps it looking shiny and glossy. I tend to use curlers and straighteners on my hair quite a lot, as well as dyeing it regularly too. I still find this conditioner works perfectly and leaves my hair feeling hydrated and glossy.
For £1 you can snap us a 400ml bottle of the stuff. This is more than reasonable for such a decent sized bottle and I find it usually lasts me a couple of months. As I've said you can find this in poundland, though the flavours are sometimes more limited, but it is also in most decent supermarkets and the price is always around the £1 mark.
This is a fantastic everyday conditioner for anyone.
Summary: A great conditioner for everyday use.
