I have tried a most of the Alberto Balsam shampoos and conditioners range and have found that each product in the range has slight differences. The Coconut and Lychee shampoo is specially designed for detangling of all hair types. As I have waist length hair which is prone to tangles this was ideal. The shampoo has a thick consistancy which means it doesn't fall between your fingers and an excessive quantity is not needed so it lasts longer. It also lathers well and leaves your hair clean with a fresh coconut smell which lasts all day. The packaging is a frosted bottle which allows you to see how much is left in the bottle at a glance (particularly useful when trying to decide if you need to get more). The shampoo itself is white but this can still be seen in the bottle. Alberto Balsam also have a conditioner which compliments this product. The range of shampoo and conditioners are regularly on offer in supermarkets as a multibuy or at £1 a bottle.
I bought Alberto Balsam coconut and lychee shampoo on a recent trip to Morrisons in a 4 for £3 deal (as well as the mandarin, blueberry and tea tree varieties meaning each bottle cost just 75p! Although I had used Alberto Balsam shampoos in the past I had never tried this coconut one so was eager to give it a try! ~ Packaging ~ The shampoo is an off-white colour and it comes in a 400ml translucent cylindrical bottle. It is quite difficult to see how much you have left in the bottle as the bottle also appears an off-white colour. The lid is a black plastic flip cap. There are stickers on the front and back of the bottle. On the front there is a picture of two halves of a coconut with the words 'coconut and lychee' underneath. Below that it states 'with coconut and lychee extracts' and describes the shampoo, 'pampering and nourishing for all hair types'. The sticker on the back of the bottle has a list of ingredients, directions for use and claims that the shampoo infuses moisture, restores shine, gently cleanses and strengthens with pro-vitamin B5. The back of the bottle also says of this shampoo, 'It uses most of the ingredients you'll find in higher priced brands but at a great price which means you can afford to feel and look glamourous every day!' ~ Scent ~ As I had never tried this shampoo before I was keen to try it out. Coconut isn't a scent I would usually choose for myself as I tend to favour juicy, fruity scents. This shampoo has a rather sweet, creamy coconut scent. It is very pleasant and I don't think it is too sickly sweet. The scent reminds me of pina coladas and coconut flavoured alcopops that I have tried in the past. The scent is quite uplifting. ~ Use ~ The shampoo itself is quite thick and you don't need to use much of it. It feels like it is good quality. Because of how thick it is, it lathers up really well and it leaves my hair feeling clean, soft and strong. I personally didn't notice, as claimed, that it infused moisture and restored shine to my hair, but it certainly didn't dry my hair out! I was impressed with how long the scent lasted after washing my hair. Often I find with other shampoos that unless I go out of my way to sniff my hair the scent of my shampoo will only linger until my hair has dried, but with this Alberto Balsam shampoo I found that I could still smell this shampoo in my hair the day after I washed it. I do still feel that I need to condition my hair after I use this shampoo, but I have found that when I use a different, more expensive conditioner on my hair after using this shampoo the scent of this shampoo dominates in my hair and I cannot smell the conditioner, but can still smell this coconut shampoo in my hair. ~ Price and availability ~ Alberto Balsam shampoos are stocked in most supermarkets (you can often get them on 4 for £3 in Asda also) and are usually £1 per bottle. The shampoo is also stocked by Wilkinsons, Boots, Superdrug and many Pound Stores! ~ Conclusion ~ Overall I have been very impressed with this shampoo especially the long-lasting scent. I had tried other Alberto Balsam shampoos with juicy, fruity scents and had been impressed with how long the scent lasted in my hair, but I thought that the coconut and lychee scented shampoo may not be as strong, but this one is just as long lasting. Although the scent is not my favourite offered by Alberto Balsam (I love the mandarin one) I would definitely buy this shampoo again. It is thick and good quality at an incredibly low price.
Alberto Balsalm is the sort of shampoo which is regularly on offer in the supermarkets - usually for something like 4 for £3. And I am the sort of person who will buy most shampoos as long as they are decently cheap so we go pretty well together. This has a nice consistency to it. I've had some cheap shampoos which are so thin that they run between your fingers (Tesco value, I'm looking at you) and some which are so thick they're more like gel. This is a nice midway point, and usually a blob of about 2cm does for my (chinlength bob) hair. A bottle tends to do for at least 2-3 months, washing once a day, which for this price I can't complain about. The scent is very strong. My husband says he can small coconut across the room when I use this. I can't smell lychee but then, I'm not sure what lychee smells like! I like it. If you don't like coconut I would pick a different flavour - but the good thing about Alberto Balsalm is that there are about 6 flavours, seperated only by smell! It leaves my hair feeling decently clean, without over-much tangling. I do need to condition it once a week or so but I find it quite satisfactory.
When it comes to buying my shampoo and conditioner I quite like the brand Alberto Balsam, I do try other brands from time to time if there is something I fancy, however a lot of the time I use this particular brand. Alberto Balsam shampoo comes in a range of fragrances and one I have recently tried is the coconut and lychee. Alberto Balsam shampoo is described as being a nourishing shampoo which contains most of the ingredients that more expensive brands of shampoo use, and to be honest I do find that this shampoo works just as well on my hair as other brands. The Coconut and Lychee fragrance is designed as being suitable for all hair types and pampers your hair. The coconut and lychee extracts not only make your hair smell lovely but they are also designed to infuse moisture and restore shine to your hair whilst cleansing it, the shampoo contains pro-vitamin B5 which is aimed to strengthen your hair. What I particularly liked about this shampoo is the fragrance, when you smell the shampoo the fragrance of coconut is instant, it has a lovely sweet smell to it which at the same time has a freshness, to be honest I couldn't actually smell the lychee as the coconut smell was the dominant one however this was not an issue for me as I really like the coconut fragrance. There is nothing fancy about this shampoo and it is used in the same way as regular shampoo in that you simply apply a small amount to wet hair and lather. The amount you will need depends on personal preference, I probably tend to use a bit more than the average as I do have long thick hair and find that I need a bit more than normal to thoroughly cleanse my hair, however despite this I do find one bottle of the shampoo lasts me just over a week and that's with me and my husband using it. I purchase my Alberto Balsam Coconut and Lychee shampoo from my local Tesco and the 400ml cost me just £1.00. Personally I think this is excellent value for money, the shampoo is of an excellent quality despite being so cheap. In my opinion it is definitely worth the money and very economical. I have been using the Alberto Balsam Coconut and Lychee shampoo for a while now and have been extremely pleased with the results. Firstly I really like the fragrance of this shampoo, it has a lovely sweet smell to it and at the same time leaves my hair smelling clean and fresh. The fragrance of this product lingers on my hair for quite a while afterwards which I like, it does not fade instantly leaving my hair like it has not been washed. This shampoo is excellent value for money and is also cheap to buy, it is definitely worth the money and as I have mentioned works out economical despite the fact that due to hair type I have to use quite a bit of shampoo at one time. I find this shampoo quiet gentle on my hair and scalp, although it makes no promises to be suitable for sensitive skin, I have had no problems with it irritating my skin at all. I would definitely recommend this shampoo as ideal for the family and I would certainly purchase it again in the future.
I have used the Alberto Balsam range before and have enjoyed most of their products however I like to change my shampoo regularly so that my hair always looks nourished and shiny. On a budget last week I purchased the Alberto Balsam Shampoo with Coconut and Lychee extracts for £1 although this product is regularly on a four for £3 offer in most supermarkets. As we didn't have need for four products I only purchased the one shampoo. The Product The shampoo is a clear bottle with 400ml shampoo and a black flip lid where you squeeze and pour the shampoo into your hands or head when hair washing. The packaging is fairly plain with a small picture of a coconut on the front. The bottle describes the shampoo to be pampering and nourishing for all hair types. The back of the bottle has all the regular warnings, directions and information about the product and states that the shampoo infuses moisture and restores shine , gently cleanses , and strengthens with pro-vitamin B5 it also says the product works well with the matching conditioner which at the time I had no need to purchase but may do in the future. The shampoo is very easy to apply to wet hair and I used about the size of a 50p piece to cover my fine, medium length hair. It has a lovely scent of coconut with a fruity after note which I believe is the Lychee scent coming through. It is very sweet so those that don't particularly enjoy sweet scented products might not enjoy this as much as I have. It is white in colour with a lovely creamy consistency and it lathers up really nicely. There seem to be loads of shampoo and conditioner in the Alberto Balsam range and I have tried a variety before however I had not tried the coconut shampoo before and I was really excited about trying it. Overall I really like this product and I think it is great value with a lovely rich scent. The scent doesn't seem to last however, which is disappointing, but after using previous products and with the value price I wasn't really expecting it to be a long lasting scent. My hair does feel lovely and soft and very well nourished the day after using. This bottle of shampoo has lasted well for the price as I wash my hair every other day. I think it is a good product that does exactly what it is supposed to do and I have lovely clean hair after using it. I would recommend this product to anyone that likes coconut scented products. The hair is very gentle on the scalp and suitable for use by all of my family which is great as it saves me buying several different products for everyone. DESCRIPTION This is a really cheap shampoo from Alberto Balsam. The shampoo is available in a variety of versions which can cater for damaged, coloured, normal hair etc. There are also a variety of smells to the shampoos and each one has an accompanying conditioner. I purchased this coconut and lychee shampoo recently after running out of my apple Alberto Balsam shampoo, I've always found the product of good quality and wanted to try a new version, I don't like the taste of coconuts but I've always adored the smell! Weird I know. PACKAGING The off white shampoo liquid is held within a see through plastic bottle. The lid is black and has a click-able top that seals away the shampoo nicely. On the front of the bottle the name of the product "Alberto Balsam - Coconut and Lychee Shampoo" is shown. It also has a strap-line at the bottom saying that this version of the shampoo is pampering and nourishing and for all hair types. We are also told there is 400ml of product. On the back of the bottle there is the usual information like ingredients, directions of use and manufacturer details. PRICE I purchased this shampoo from Wilkinsons for £1.50 but you can often find this shampoo in pound shops and also in Boots and Superdrug. PERFORMANCE I think this shampoo is excellent, especially for the price. My favourite shampoo of all is the Aussie brand shampoo but I can't always afford to splash out on that shampoo and conditioner and so I was forever on the hunt for a good cheap shampoo until I came across the Alberto Balsam range last year. This coconut and lychee version is very nice. The smell hits you as soon as you open the bottle and is very sumptuous. It definitely lingers on my hair throughout the day and I've had compliments from my boyfriend about the lovely smell, always a plus if they notice! Haha. In terms of its ability to clean the hair I feel this shampoo performs very well, it lathers up with ease and washes out with a relatively quick rinse. My hair afterwards feels really fresh and shiny and paired with the conditioner (I will review this also) I feel it provides a great hair wash. The only thing I would say is that although it says for all hair types I would not recommend this version for people who have damaged or coloured hair, if that is the case have a look at the other varieties in the Alberto Balsam range as they will perform much better for your needs. If your hair like mine tends to accept most shampoos though then this one really is lovely! OVERALL Overall I definitely recommend this shampoo and have already recommended it to friends. It's a fantastic price for such a great shampoo and even though Aussie is still my favourite I still have to give this product 5 stars because I can't fault it, it does what it says it will for the price and performs much better than any other bargain shampoo I've tried. This product is always in my bathroom.
In a bid to try and save some money on my normal shopping, I've been trying out some cheaper brands of toiletries to see if they match the quality of my preferred brands. One brand I've been experimenting with is Alberto Balsam. This coconut and lychee shampoo from Alberto Balsam is widely available to purchase from discount shops and supermarkets. I picked this up from my local Tesco when they were running a 3 for 2 promotion on all hair care products, it normally costs just £1. The shampoo comes inside the typical packaging of Alberto Balsam products. It is a long, round, 400ml plastic bottle, you can see the shampoo inside so you can see exactly how much you have left. It certainly isn't anything special but, for the price, who can moan? The normal, relevant information can be found on both the front and back of the bottle. The black flip top lid is located at the top of the bottle. I have a thing for lids on the top of bottles as getting the last bit of product out usually involves flinging my arms around everywhere and just prefer the lid being at the bottom. That being said, the lid is still easy to open, even with wet hands. The shampoo itself is a pearly white colour and has a nice consistency, often with cheaper products the consistency tends to be quite runny, but this one seems to be just right. There is definitely a coconut type scent to this shampoo but it is a little too sweet smelling for my liking but it's still usable. When rubbing the shampoo into my hair, I find that it lathers up without having to work it too much. Rinsing it off is a simple process. I use this alongside the matching Alberto Balsam coconut and lychee conditioner and find the results good for the price paid. After drying, my hair is left looking and feeling clean, soft and smooth. The results aren't as great as my favourite brands as it doesn't feel like it's left it nourished and healthy but the clean results mean that I will continue to use it from time to time. At only a pound, and sometimes cheaper if picked up on offer, I'd definitely recommend this coconut and lychee shampoo from Alberto Balsam.
Alberto Balsam do some of the best shampoos and conditioners for daily use that can be used by the whole family. They are also some of the best value with the shampoos being able to be picked up for about 70p. In my family we all have our favourites which we like best but to be honest there isn't one in the range that I have tried that I don't think is good and it is just down to individual tastes on the fragrances that they come in. The coconut and Lychee shampoo wouldn't be my first choice but I still think it is a great shampoo and would happily buy and use it if the shop wasn't stocking our favourite ones. This smells much more exotic than the other fragrances such as the apples and the strawberry shampoos. It is a lovely summery and fresh smell but I think it just seems to smell a little bit more artificial than the other shampoos in the range. It also seems to lack a bit of the intensity of the other ones and although my hair smells clean and fresh and is lightly scented it isn't quite as good at keeping the bad outdoor smells at bay. The shampoo is gentle though and can easily be used by the whole family. It cleans well without stripping my hair of moisture and afterwards my hair isn't left tangled and fluffy looking. What it does really well is make my hair shiny and I think it actually does this more than the other shampoos in the range. When my daughter uses this she doesn't always use a conditioner as well and her hair is always left looking shiny and healthy. This might not be my favourite shampoo in the Alberto Balsam range but that is purely a personal preference and I still think it is a great shampoo which offers great value for money. If you like more exotic smelling shampoos then you will probably love this and you can't fail to be impressed with how well it works considering its cheap price tag.
Alberto Balsam range is one I buy regularly because I find them good for washing and conditioning my hair. People who read my reviews on a regular basis will know I am growing my hair at the moment and so am wanting to use products which actually help my hair stay in a good condition. This shampoo comes in a tall transparent plastic bottle which is very easy to get a good grip of the bottle comfortably. It has a flip back lid and sits well on a surface. The shampoo is a white colour and it has an amazingly beautiful coconut fragrance. This fragrance is quite a strong one and so if you don't like the smell of coconut this one may not be one you may like but I love the smell of coconut and so it is more than suitable for my hair. The fragrance has lasting power on the hair too once it has dried and I can definitely smell the coconut on my hair a good few hours after washing it using this shampoo. It has a very rich texture to it and one which is extremely smooth and soft. just a small blob on the hands is enough to create a really good lather for my long hair, it isn't necessary to apply any more of the shampoo with this shampoo because it does create lots of bubbles and any more of the shampoo would be far too much to use. If you have shorter hair I suggest you only pour a tiny amount onto the palms of the hands because this amount would be well enough for a good lather. Because it is so rich a consistency this one doesn't drip from the bottle while pouring it onto the hands but you do need to shake the bottle when you get nearer the end of the bottle just so it flows more easily and you use the full bottle of shampoo. This shampoo contains pro-vitamin B5 and ingredient to help moisturise and strengthen the hair and to leave it looking nice and shiny. I have my hair trimmed regularly and so the ends of my hair are in a good condition because I always use a conditioner on my hair but this one has left the ends of my hair in a good condition and used with a conditioner it has left them looking nice in appearance, just how I like the ends to look. It nourishes the hair and it a beautiful gentle shampoo which is gentle on the scalp and doesn't leave the scalp feeling sore or irritated at all. Leaves my hair looking nice and shiny too and with a nice shine and glossy looking. When it comes to rinsing this one from the hair, it rinses really well and I can definitely feel how soft my hair feels while rinsing it before I apply my hair conditioner. I love the feel of my hair between my fingers and I can always tell if I like a shampoo when I can feel the softness of my hair while rinsing it. This one hasn't disappointed me at all. It is a good family shampoo and one I think all the family would like to use for hair washing, I have washed my little grandson's hair with this one and only used a tiny amount on his finer hair and it has cleaned his hair really well and left it feeling super soft and I can smell the coconut on his hair after it has dried. A beautiful coconut fragrance and one I love. I adore the smell of coconut and I love the fact that this one has staying power and it shows the quality of the fragrance and the shampoo. This one doesn't leave my hair all lank or feeling weighed down at all, it just leaves it feeling soft and I could actually get away with using this one without having to use a conditioner but I do prefer to use it alongside a conditioner and I cannot wait to try the conditioner with this same fragrance. This shampoo is so affordable for any budget in my opinion and for the price of just a £1 for a 400ml bottle. I don't think you can go wrong for this price of the shampoo, if you are looking to drop a brand, I think this one would be more than suitable and a nice change from one of the more expensive brands if you want to save lots of money. If you wash your hair most days as I do, I think this one would be a nice one to try because of the large amount of shampoo in the bottle and the amount of wash applications in the bottle. I am delighted to recommend this shampoo to anyone who loves the smell of coconut and are wanting a shampoo which not only cleans the hair really well or one which is really cheap to buy. I will most certainly be buying this one again in the future because it cleans my hair perfectly and is well worth every penny. The bottle is recyclable too after use. Also on Ciao under my username Pinky50. I give this one 5 stars. Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
I am quite fussy about the products that I use on my hair because it is dry and damaged from the styling product which I use on it, as well as generally frizzy and out of control, but it also manages to get greasy quite quickly too. Every now and again, I buy a cheap and cheerful product just to have a go and having been happy with some of the other Alberto Balsam products, I decided to give the Coconut and Lychee shampoo and conditioner a go. This is the review of the shampoo. What does the product do? The main purpose of this product is to cleanse the hair to leave it looking and feeling fresh and clean. The shampoo has been designed to be used on all hair types and it promises to nourish and pamper your locks. It claims to give the hair a deep burst of moisture to leave it hydrated and shining with health. It also strengthens and protects the hair with Vitamin B5 and smelling completely delicious. The Alberto Balsam range uses the most of the same ingredients as the more expensive brands so you should be able to anticipate some good results. Packaging and Price The product comes contained within a cloudy plastic bottle and you can see the shampoo instead. On the front of the bottle there is a picture of some coconuts cut in half and on the back of the bottle is some more information about the product. The bottle has a black flip top lid which is easy to open and close even when your hands are wet and soapy. The product comes at a really cheap price and will only set you back around 99p for 400ml of the shampoo. It can be bought from most large supermarkets, stores such as Boots and Superdrug, and a range of online websites. My experience The shampoo has a completely delicious aroma just like all the others in the collection. It smells like coconuts so if you don't like the smell of them then you won't like this but it smells really natural as opposed to something that has been artificially added. There is also an additional sweetness in the aroma too and I really like it. It smells tropical and is a really summery aroma. The shampoo is white in colour and cloudy just like the bottle. It has the consistency which you would expect to find in a product of this type. It is easy to squeeze from the bottle and you don't need to use too much of it in order to achieve the desired results. The shampoo makes a lovely lather in the hair and get plenty of bubbles which makes you feel like you are getting your hair nice and clean. The aroma is evident the whole time and it makes the experience a more enjoyable one. The formula is gentle and doesn't irritate my scalp and you can tell it's doing a good job of hydrating my hair. When you have finished working the product into your hair, it is easily rinsed out again. The product leaves my hair easy to brush through both when wet and when it has been blow dried. My hair seems really soft, less frizzy and more manageable and although this will also be partly due to the conditioner as well, I feel like the shampoo went a long way in helping. My hair has a nice shine to it once it has been straightened and it is really fresh and clean. It smells really nice and the coconut aroma lingers for some time after use. I think the formula may be a little heavy for those with greasy hair and although I manage to go the usual 48 hours without washing my hair, it is at a push. It doesn't weigh my hair done and it still has plenty of body and movement. Conclusion All in all, you can't go far wrong with this shampoo, especially when you consider the price. If you don't like the aroma of coconuts then you won't like this but then that's evident from the name of the product. It cleanses my hair well, gives it a burst of moisture and leaves it both soft and shiny. Although this product is supposed to be suitable for all hair types, it may be too heavy for those with greasy hair but I am more than happy with it and would happily repurchase it once mine has all gone.
Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo I can be quite picky about the shampoo that I use on a daily basis, and lately my preferences have definitely been towards Lush quality shampoos, but with the expense of a new addition to our family I decided to try something cheaper but still with what I hoped would be a natural fruity fragrance. Personally I always seem to have a bit of a temperamental scalp and certain shampoos can really irritate my skin and not completely clean my hair, more often than not certain supermarket brand shampoos and conditioners don't agree with me, or I can only use them for a short period of time before I need to switch on to something else. When my husband was sent to the store for supplies and came home with the Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo, when it wasn't quite what I asked for I was initially really disappointed in his choice but decided to give it a go despite its rather cheap appearance. Especially since I have found other Alberto shampoos to be ok in the past. In all honesty the shampoo was better than I was expecting in both smell and use and although the Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo is quite a normal consistency and isn't as runny as you might expect from a cheaper brand you do need to use a rather large splotch of it to get a good amount of lather. However, even despite needing to use quite a lot more of this than I do with some of my more expensive shampoo brands, I still don't see that as much of a negative because of the cheap price tag. As I have already mentioned you do need to use more of this than you might expect to get a nice amount of later, and so a normal bottle will go down pretty quickly (depending of course on how long your hair is and how often you need to wash it). I have pretty normal hair, not too greasy, not too dry and generally quite easy to manage so the shampoo worked just fine for me but it is a bit of a no thrills shampoo and I doubt if you needed something more tailored to keep your luscious locks looking good that the Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo would deliver the results. It's a decent enough shampoo but it just doesn't compare to more expensive brands or mu favourite Lush shampoos. Now, apart from leaving my hair clean and healthy looking the best feature of the shampoo should be the fragrance, but sadly Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo smells very artificial and not really all that pleasant. I do still like it or at least not hate it, even despite the fact that it is a little sweet and not as natural smelling as you might want. In my opinion the Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo smells only just ok, but I am still more than happy to use it in the morning when I am watching the pennies, but just don't expect to be catching whiffs of exotic coconut and Lychee all day long. Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo is cheap, you can easily pick it up for around about £1 at your local Asda for a rather decent sized bottle. The packaging is nothing special and overall it looks just ok. To sum, I would have to say that the Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo is a great shampoo to use when you are on a budget, as it works well and smells good. I just wouldn't say that it was the best shampoo out there but the quality you get for the price is pretty good and I think that for those reasons the shampoo deserves a rather average but positive three out of five star rating. I still wouldn't buy it all the time but it is a great cheaper alternative for once in a while when you want to save a few pennies on your weekly shop. However, I have to add that after using nearly the entire bottle I have found that the Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo has started to irritate my scalp so I will not be buying another bottle of this in the immediate future.
I like trying new hair and beauty products, especially if I think it will save me some money. I saw this shampoo as a set with the matching conditioner in B&M for a bargain price of £1.69. I love the smell of coconut products so thought I would try it. The shampoo is an Alberto Balsam product with coconut and lychee extracts. == Packaging == The bottle is quite a plain semi see through bottle with a black flip top lid. The Alberto Balsam label is black and white in colour, with a picture of coconuts on the front. On the back of the bottle there is another label which lists the ingredients and directions for use and some of the selling points of the shampoo. == Price and Availability == This is available in a large number of retailers for approximately £1 a bottle. I got a good buy the day when I bought the set for £1.69. == How was it? == I tend to use products aimed at dry, damaged hair as my hair is often blasted with the hair dryer, and straightened so I try to counteract this harsh treatment with nourishing hair products to try and restore some moisture. The shampoo is a white pearly liquid, it squeezes quickly out of the bottle. I do exactly as the instructions say (same as all shampoos), it tells you to wet hair and use a good sized dollop of shampoo and lather and rinse. I found it lathered up well and the smell was lovely. When my hair was dry, I found it soft to the touch and had a nice healthy shine to it, especially once I had straightened it. I have also used it on my daughters hair (she is 4) and she loves it, she think its smells like princesses hair! On the packaging it says that it infuses moisture and restores shine, it gently cleanses and it strengthens with pro-vitamin B5. I would agree with all of these claims, I am very happy with this product. == Overall Summary == This is a very affordable shampoo which is suitable for the whole family to use. I will be buying this again and I am happy to recommend this. I am even more impressed at the price, I have paid more for branded shampoos and achieved similar results. So some pennies saved for me! Thanks for reading.
I absolutely love the scents of the Alberto shampoos and conditioners usually so when I recently spotted lots of different varieties of them in my local pound shop I bought a few of them and had a right stock up. I suffer with greasy roots and dry ends and a terible amount of frizz and I have just below shoulder length hair at the moment. My main aims with any shampoo of course is to have clean and healthy looking hair and anything else achieved is a bonus! The Packaging: This shampoo comes in a slightly frosted but still though bottle that holds 400ml of the shampoo and on the front it we are quite clearly told what it is and who it is by and that it is for all hair types and the size is stated ( as I have listed already) then on the back of the bottle we are told a bit about the product and how to use it (?!), the ingredients are listed and contact details for Unilver (the manufacturer of the product are stated). The bottle has a black plastic cap to the top of it which is easy to flip open and close and conceals a small hole which is easy to dispense out of. This is nice enough but simple enough packaging with a nice picture shown of a coconut of the front of it along with some little white flowers and of course the bottle is informative enough as well. The Shampoo: Nice consistency and transparent I find I only need a little of this wonderful smelling and naturally so coconut shampoo. I dampen/wet my hair and lather it up which it does easily releasing its wonderful aroma as I go and I get nice thick bubbles and it feels conditioning as I go too and it rinses out before I lather up once again and before using conditioner. I can't really smell lychee in this just a hint of like a sweet smell that isn't from the coconut I don't think but the scent of this does linger on my hair for a good few hours and my hair is left feeling soft and impeccably clean. This doesn't upset my greasy roots any more than anything else that I use and the ends of my hair feel more nourished for using it. This is a fab little beauty buy in my opinion and you get alot of product for your bucks and I would certainly recommend it as it is kind to my hair, my hair is left clean, soft but still manageable and with a nice and natural shine! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
Why I wanted this product? I wanted this product because when I was a baba, not too long ago! My mother used this to wash my hair, she used the strawberry smelling one. I always thought that the Alberto Balsam rang had gone away until I seen the coconut and lychee one! Packaging.... This shampoo comes in a 400ml bottle the bottle is see through and you can she the white liquid inside. The lid is a black one that you snap back to get the product out. What the shampoo is like? The shampoo has a very strong smell of coconut you can hardly smell the lychee in it. It is white colouring and i think is actually quite runny for a shampoo. The packaging that the shampoo comes in is simple and too the point, basically you know what you are getting. What Alberto Balsam Say..... They say the shampoo will... Make your hair shine like it has never shined before. Your hair will be thoroughly cleansed. The shampoo will strengthen your hair with pro vitamin B5. Availability and price.... I found my bottle is super drug but I'm now aware it's actually in supermarkets as well as online and you will pick up a 400ml bottle for around £1 which I think is great considering the price you pay for some shampoos. What I thought.... I'm a raving lunatic when it comes to the care of my hair but I found this shampoo did the job it was supposed to. Especially when using it with the conditioner. The shampoo cleaned my hair and I also found the smell stayed with me throughout the day. I'm quite surprised that for a pound you get the quality you do with it. The smell is also a great advantage I love the smell of coconut. I did find that on top of these benefits that the shampoo made a really good lather in my hair and was easily washed out. Advantages.... Very cheap. Lovely smells. Cleans my hair incredibly well. Leaves it non greasy Really easy to wash out. Disadvantages.... None.. Would I recommend... Yes!
My parents always used to buy Alberto Balsam shampoos when I was growing up just because they were cheap. I'd tried pretty much every type they do but I'd never come across this Coconut & Lychee one before. I love the smell of coconut so when I saw this one I had to give it a go. I bought the shampoo and the matching conditioner for just £1 each. The packaging is quite plain and simple but they don't look really cheap which is good for something that only costs a quid. The bottle is white semi transparent plastic, so you can always see when you're running out, and it has a flip top lid making it easy and convenient to use. The shampoo isn't particularly thick in consistency but it has a creamier texture than most of their other shampoos. It lathers really quickly and makes a lovely thick luxurious lather that feels really nice. The smell is absolutely, it has a creamy coconut scent but also a lovely tropical fruitiness from the lychee. I find this feels quite moisturising when I'm using it, but not so much that it feels like it's going to weigh my hair down or leave it greasy. It rinses out easily and my hair is left feeling clean and fresh. Once it's dry my hair feels quite a bit softer and smoother than with other shampoos. My hair is really fine and I find this leaves it without a bit more body and bounce than most shampoos, but especially than other moisturising shampoos. All in all I think this is a great shampoo and probably my favourite of the Alberto Balsam range. It's fantastic vale for money and I'd recommend it to anyone, for £1 it's worth a shot!
