Advantages: great conditioner
Disadvantages: none!
As my hair is coloured, fine and greasy I am always on the look out for products that will make my hair look and feel good which is quite a tall order bearing in mind everything I have just listed! My main issue is the oiliness of my hair though which means that I do really have to wash it everyday. I also find that my hair matts easily after washing and without a good conditioner it takes a long time to make it tangle free. With all this in mind I was very interested to try the Alberto Juicy Green Apple shampoo and conditioner for normal/greasy hair. I loved them both but particularly the conditioner which I'm now going to describe.
I use the conditioner each day after using the shampoo. The colour is very much the colour of a juicy green apple and as soon as you open it up you are struck by the smell - you could easily be standing in an apple orchard as the smell is that strong! Some people might think it a bit overpowering but I absolutely love it. It smells so fresh and clean!
The consistency of this conditioner is also very good. I often struggle with this aspect of conditioners finding them a little too thick which means that it is hard to apply evenly to my hair. That's not the case with the juicy apple conditioner though as I find that I can apply it very smoothly and evenly just by running it through my hair with my fingers. It's even better if I use a comb because that really does get an even coating and the tangles are gone in seconds!
I find that I don't really need to use much conditioner at all for my shoulder length hair - a reasonable sized dollop works wonders. It comes out of the plastic bottle fairly well but I do have to give it a pretty vigorous shake when it's near the bottom and I never quite manage to get it all out! You need to leave it on for a couple of minutes in order to get maximum benefit and then it really does rinse off very easily as well.
I do think that my hair looks shinier and healthier as a result of using this conditioner and I love the fact that it's so much more manageable and tangle free. It also feels stronger which, from reading the bottle, is down to the fact that it contains vitamin B5.
I'm not going to go through all the list of ingredients but it does contain apple and grape seed extracts which are probably what gives it that delicious smell! The bottle does state though that it uses many of the ingredients that you would find in more expensive conditioners but at a much more resonable price. In fact you can get a 400 ml bottle in Asda for only 98 pence or even better - three 400 ml botles for £2!
I have also used this conditioner on my five year old daughter's very long and often very tangled hair. We have so many fights over me brushing it, but if we use this regularly when we wash her hair it really does make a difference and she only protests a little bit!
I really do recommend this conditioner and now all of the family uses it! It's effective, smells nice and best of all, it's inexpensive. It's well worth a try!
Summary: An excellent conditioner!
