Advantages: great smell, good price
Disadvantages: none
I'd never tried any Alberto Balsam products before, but was on the look out for a new hair product to try. I have greasy hair, which is a bit dry at the ends due to being highlighted. You would think it is easy to find shampoo and conditioner for greasy/oily hair, but I find these days when I am looking for some it is not as easy as I thought.
I ended up seeing this on the bottom shelf at Asda and they were selling it for 98p each or 3 for £2, so I thought buy 2 shampoo's and 1 conditioner. There was no point in paying £1.96 for a shampoo and conditioner, may as well spend another 4p and get another product surely? I like to use corresponding Shampoo and Conditoner, as I feel it works better.
Anyway about the conditioner. This is Herbal Conditioner. It says "Get Fresh, for normal/Greasy Hair" It is Juicy Green Apple, Apple is one of my favourite scents. It has Apple and Grape seed extracts in it.
The blurb on the back of the bottle says "This Juicy green Apple Conditioner is super fruity and will leave you and your hair feeling fresh and healthy. It uses most of the same ingrediants you'll find in more expensive brands but at a great price, which means you can afford to look glamorous every day!" Fair enough, but I don't necessarily need to know that it's cheap, but just as good as something more expensive. Washing my hair isn't about trying to feel glam, it's all about washing it because I have to, otherwise I may smell!!!
The desgn of the bottle is pretty basic and standard, but for the price I wouldn't be looking for something out of the ordinary. It has a cloudy white see though bottle. The lid is a black flip lid. You can see the rich green gel through the bottle. The label is half black and then below the Alberto Balsam wording is a picture of a ripe green apple with dew on it. It is a 400ml bottle, and you can't argue it is good value for money.
The smell is beautiful. It really does smell like juicy fresh apples and this does scent your hair, not heavily scented, but enough for you to smell it.
Does it work? Yes it cleans and moisturises well. It works as well as any other conditioner and I would buy again. I'll probably stock up a bit before the offer ends, may aswell get the best offer on it, even though it is cheap.
Try it, it may be the best 98p you've spent, or 67p if you buy on the 3 for £2!
