I recently needed some shampoo so looked around to see what was on special offer and found the Alberto Balsam shampoos were on buy 4 for £3 in Tesco instead of 95p each so thought I would give them a try. This is the second of the shampoos I tried and is the Juicy Green Apple.

The shampoo is designed for normal or greasy hair and is designed to leave your hair feeling fresh and healthy. It's 3 main properties are that it gently cleanses, revives and refreshes and strengthens with pro-vitamin B5.

The shampoo comes in an opaque slim plastic bottle with a flip-top lid. The shampoo itself is fairly thin consistency and a green colour. The shampoo has a really strong fresh apple scent. It's quite a nice smell.

The directions are quite simple and written on the back of the bottle in-case you don't know how to use shampoo! They state you should use a "good sized dollop", lather and then rinse. They also encourage you to use the Juicy Green Apple Conditioner afterwards.

So what do I think about this shampoo? Well it's ok, not fantastic but perfectly fine. I do tend to prefer a thicker more creamy shampoo they tend to feel more luxurious whereas this shampoo does feel a bit cheap. It does lather up well when are you using it and the smell is perfectly pleasant, apple is not necessarily my favourite smell but its fine. My hair afterwards does feel clean and soft but I feel the shampoo doesn't do anything different from any other shampoo, there are no added benefits of using it.

If you are looking for a cheap, no frills shampoo which still does a good job at giving you clean, fresh hair then this might be the one for you. If on the other hand you want a shampoo that smoothes your hair, gives you volume or anything else like that I would give this range a miss and pay a bit more for another shampoo.
