Advantages: Smells lovely
Disadvantages: Not very thick
Around six months a go I dyed my hair blonde so switched to specific shampoos that supposedly help keep the colour shiny and radiant but every now and again I come back to either this one or the raspberry flavour in this range.
The Alberto Balsam range is such a good quality range of shampoos but for such a tiny price. This one cost just 98p for a .......g bottle but Asda seem to have a long running offer at the moment which is unbeatable and that's 3 bottles for £2. All of the flavours are natural and they range from this apple one to tea tree and raspberry to strawberry. All of them are for different conditions of hair but this one is for normal to greasy hair. The shampoo contains pro-vitamin B5 which is supposed to strengthen hair.
There is no mistaking this shampoo. All of the bottles are see through and you can see the bright green liquid oozing around inside. It's very simple to use in that you put a load on your hand then massage it into your hair from root to tip. Once this is done then you need to rinse it out and you're done. When you do pour a bit onto your hand you will notice that it is fairly runny although not enough to fall off your hand. I have tried shampoos that were more expensive than this one but have been very disappointed to find that half of it ends up on the bottom of the shower before I've got it onto my noggin.
The great thing about this shampoo is it smells amazing. I am a sucker for nice smells and this one smells exactly like fresh apples. It reminds me of being in my aunties garden amongst the chickens as she used to have quite a lot of apples trees around. It's such a nice, fresh, crisp fragrance. To me washing my hair is one of those things that I hate doing but using this shampoo makes the whole process much more bearable and I'm pretty sure that's down to the smell.
My husband likes to have a bath most nights and if we run out of bubble then he uses some of this. Normally I would scream blue murder at him for doing this but it's cheap enough that I'm not bothered. It makes the bath bubble up a treat and the bathroom smells as if he has used a lush product!
This shampoo rinses well and once my hair is dry, it feels really clean, soft and looks shiny. The smell of the apples remain even if I blow dry so I end up smelling like a Granny Smith (oh I quite fancy one right now!). Obviously it's not as good as a salon shampoo but I do think it's great for the price.
If you like this then you could try using the same flavoured conditioner or you could try all of the other shampoos that are available in this range.
Summary: A great budget shampoo
