Shampoo is a funny old thing. Back in the old days (and I'm talking hundreds of years ago), people used nature to aid their cleaning. Whether it was brushing their teeth with a twig or something else, there was a distinct Ray Mears approach to body care back then.

Today, the world has moved on, and now we try to artificially re-create those original ingredients in our body care products. Thus, Alberto Balsam Juicy Green Apple Shampoo has come to the market.

Now, I don't have much hair, but I still wash it! Every morning, the main thing I am looking for is a way to wake my body up, and this really does the trick. This shampoo smells very strongly of apples, to the point where it is a lot more powerful than the reality of eating an apple - it's more like concentrated pure apple juice.

Consistency-wise, it's liquid but gel-like, and stays in your hand very well, unlike some runnier shampoos that drip everywhere.

The lather is good, and just a few seconds of scalp massage will produce a good soapy lather, even for the little hair I have.

The main brilliance of the product is the smell, which is so refreshing and strong that it wakes you up with a zingy start. Your whole shower smells great using this, and that is what it's all about is it not?

Don't worry though; you won't spend the whole day smelling of apples. When you rinse it off, it pretty much disappears, leaving you with just the slightest fruity aroma.

At 98p a bottle, it's well priced for a brand name, and is well worth it. I find the cheaper bottles don't have the same power to them, and are more like dliuted squash whereas this is like pure apple juice.

All in all, a great start to the day!

Summary: do it

I bought this product when I was on holiday the other day and paid 1 euros and 50 cents each and I am really happy with this product as it is for greasy hair.

What did you mean about your hair?
