Advantages: great smell.effective, inexpensive
Disadvantages: none
I have been using Alberto Balsam Juicy Green Apple Shampoo for about a year now and I absolutely love the effect it has on my hair. I tend to wash my hair every day as it is quite oily and also I exercise most days so I need a good shampoo that I can rely on which is also not too expensive. This, along with the Alberto Balsam Apple shampoo, really does the trick!
I tend to use this shampoo in the shower and with only one application it really does lather well. Only the minutest amount is all I need to get a good lather covering my shoulder length hair. It really does feel as though it is cleaning well and getting bright to the roots and the smell is absolutely gorgeous! It really does smell as if you are in an orchard full of apples. The smell is very strong and I guess that if you were not that keen on the smell of apples you might find it a little overpowering but I love it. I also find that once I have lathered my hair well and I come to rinse it out, it does rinse out very well. As I say, I do all of this in the shower and it does not take long at all without any residue clinging to my hair.
The shampoo actually contains apple and grape seed extracts along with lots of other scientific sounding ingredients. It actually states on the recyclable plastic bottle that it contains most of the same ingredients that you find in the more expensive brands. I think this is very good as, with washing my hair so often, I can't really afford to spend a fortune on hair products. And anyway, why should you, when a lovely shampoo uses the same ingredients at a much lower for price. The shampoo actually costs about £1 for a 400ml bottle but you can often find a multi buy offer at Tesco where you can buy four for £3 which I think is excellent value. (This can be a combination of any of the shampoos and conditioners in the Alberto Balsam range). I find that each bottle lasts a very good amount of time too especially as you never need to use much and one application works fine.
My hair does also feel in excellent condition after I have used this shampoo. It does keep the oiliness at bay and it feels healthy and strong too. On the bottle it makes three claims. These are that it gently cleanses, it revives and refreshes and also that it strengthens with pro-vitamin B5. Well without a doubt, it really does seem to do all of these things and do them well.
I am really happy with this shampoo. My hair looks good, it smells nice (although the lingering effect of the apples is not strong) and I am not paying a fortune for it to do so! What more could a girl ask?
Summary: A lovely shampoo
