Advantages: Lathers well, lasts ages, nice smell, cleans well.

Disadvantages: none

Due to be overly sensitive to most chemicals, I rarely get to use the majority of shampoos. So if I find one that doesn't bring me out in a rash, it's a bonus!

Following a child-food incident at a friend's house I needed to wash my hair. She offered me her Alberto Balsam Juicy Apple shampoo and I tentatively tested it and was very surprised when there was no adverse affect.

~Appearance~
It comes in a cylindrical bottle with no varying shape except at the top where it tapers into a typical nozzle. The one I used was capped with a twist off black plastic top. I used to prefer flip ups so I didn't drop them but following several snapping flip up lids on products I now find the twist off is better.

The plastic of the bottle is pretty thick, translucent so you can see inside thus giving you an idea of how much is left.

The one I used was the Apple variety which is a bright lush green shade and does put you in the mind of apples (radioactive apples...but still, apples!)

There is a label on the front featuring the name, and a rich juicy picture of an apple splashed with water in case you missed it on the name or even from the smell.

The shampoo itself is quite gloopy with an almost gel-like consistency, and plops in sucking globules onto your hand when you squeeze the bottle. A slight squeeze is all you need, no shaking the bottle at least not until the end.

~Use~
Pretty obvious re: use, just wet your hair (thoroughly), squeeze out a splodge (believe me you do not need much) and lather it up! It lathers up very well.

I have long hair (past the lower back) and I never need more than one squeeze. If you have shorter hair you may want to be more careful how much you use.

The shampoo has a strong scent of apples (ish) and is quite a tangy pleasant smell. It does remain though very muted on the hair once dry but not as strong as I thought it would, however I wouldn't have had a problem with my hair smelling of apples.

It rinses off well, rather than some I have used in the past that seems to take ages to get out. I even found that I rarely need a conditioner with this product as it doesn't leave my hair rough.

~Size~
The bottle I used was a 400ml bottle. I purchased one myself after finding it a really nice shampoo. This bottle is a good size and lasts ages due to not needing much!

~Price~
I got mine from Tescos, they are sold at around £1.00. They also have offers of 2 for £1.80 if you want to stock up.

~Summary~
A good, cheap shampoo
