My hair is very long, and prone to knots so for me a good conditioner needs to give my hair great shine as well as making it tangle free and easy to manage.

I used to spend quite a bit of money on my haircare products, thinking that of course bright colourful packaging, and £4.50 for a small bottle, makes it the best there is!

This has now changed somewhat. I have recently moved house so now it?s goodbye glamorous products, and hello cheap and nasty ones that make your head look good enough to fry your Sunday breakfast of fried eggs on!!.

Since I have moved I have tried out a number (very large number!) of different shampoos and conditioners, none of which I have stuck with long enough to finish the whole bottle - my bathroom could now compete against Boot?s haircare aisle and win!

Last week I wandered into Wilkinsons for my weekly dose of cola bottles and had a look in the sale basket. There were quite a few different bottles, one of which was Alberto Balsam moisturising conditioner. This was supposed to be 76pence, but, being in the sale basket it had a further 25% off!. Looking in my purse, this was about all I could afford, so I thought I would give it a try.

The bottle doesn?t really look that appealing. It is a peachy kind of colour, kind of boring but it?s not the packaging that matters now is it!

The conditioner does smell really nice, and not at all chemically. After leaving it to work it?s magic for a few minutes it was test time.

Now I comb the tangles out of my hair while it is still damp. Using this conditioner, the tangles came out really easily without me having to literally pull my hair out.

After drying, my hair was very soft and smelt gorgeous.

Now I have had mixed results since I have been using this product. Sometimes when I have used it
my hair has appeared slightly dull looking. However I think this is down to the way I have washed it.

For best results, comb a small amount through your hair; wait for a few minutes then rinse, finishing with a rinse in cooler water. When I dry my hair I tend to finish with a blast of cold air to smooth my hair down. This really does work for me, so if you don?t get great results, just try experimenting a bit.

In conclusion this really is a great product. It is gentle enough to use frequently and has never made my hair greasy. Best of all it is cheap.

I highly recommend this product, as it does everything it says on the bottle and more!
