I have to admit now to being a bit of a shampoo tart. I have never really found 'the one' shampoo that I am willing to be a slave to, and so I tend to go for whatever's on offer and smells good. My hair is fairly fine and tends to be a little oily, so I go for shampoos for normal or oily hair.

The latest one I have been using is Alberto Balsam's pomegranate anti-oxidant shampoo, which is suitable for all hair types. Prices vary, but it costs around £1 for a 400ml bottle, which I think is pretty good value.

The packaging is just as in the picture above. It has a flip top and it's easy to squeeze the product out. Unfortunately (and I never know if this is a feature of the type of lid or the texture of the product), it has a tendency to suck back some of the shampoo that you've dispensed, so it can be a little tricky to get just the right amount and I sometimes end up with too much, which is a bit wasteful.

The smell of this shampoo is lovely and fruity. To be honest, the times I've had pomegranate to eat, it hasn't really smelled of anything much (maybe I'm eating poor pomegranates), so I don't know if the smell of the shampoo matches up. It's almost a strawberry type of smell, but less sweet. Really lovely, and lasts well while you're shampooing, filling up the bathroom with the scent. My hair is very short so it's hard for me to tell if the scent is lasting on my hair - I have tried canvassing my family about this, but with one man and two boys in the house, the best response I've got is 'it's OK' - what can you do?

The shampoo lathers up really well, and I think it works well as a daily shampoo. It leaves my hair soft and shiny and doesn't weigh it down. All in all I think this is a great product and really a bit of a bargain.
