Advantages: Cheap and chearful

I seem to go through a vast amound of shampoo and conditioner. I have very long wavy hair, and its fairly dry and does have a tendancy to be a little frizzy occationally. I use 3 times at least more conditioner than shampoo.

I was drawn to Alberto Balsam Strawberries and Cream shampoo and conditioner in Asda as it was 4 x 400ml bottles of any from the range for £4.00!!!!! Seems a bit unreal for a Branded product, so in my basket went 1 shampoo and 4 conditioners.

Mearly for your information to give you an idea of my prefered product, I tend to always go back to Pantene....but this is 4 times the price, so why not give this credit crunch brand a whirl!!!

I used it in the shower for the 1st time. the shampoo is a mid translucent mid pink colour, the smell is unreal! Very very strong strawberry, very very distinctive, a little sickly if I'm honest. I like the smell of strawberries so all good. Hubby was less keen as he thought it was very girly. The consistancy was fine. Gloopy and quite jelly-fied, did mean that qhen you squeeze it out alot comes out, although it also globs back in if you are carefull. I prefer this than runny versions.

the product lathers very well, and more importantly was nice and easy to rinse out. My hair felt squeeky chean, yet not stripped of all its moisture. Thankfully, my hair smelled nice and clean, but it didn't leave the very strong smell I though it might, just a mild fruity tinge.

I used the shampoo in conjunction with the matching conditioner. The review of that to follow.

Results-

I left my hair to dry naturally, as unless I straighten it, this leaves my hair looking its best. I left my hair a little dry looking, a little frizzy, but not terrible. Was not massivly pleased with the results, but not unusal for my hair.
A massive negative, was that the next day, my hair became very very greasy at the roots. I'm talking chip pan tastic....cannot leave the house without washing my hair greasy! I wash my hair every other day, so I found this very dissapointing. I didn't wash my hair, as I didn't need to go out that day. This happened the next 2 times i washed my hair, but has since settled down.

It has left my scalp smooth and flake free, not tight and dry like other cheap shampoo options have done in the past.

Overall, the shampoo it ok. It isn't something I will rush to buy again mearly beacuse of the chip pan problems!

I will give it 3 stars, mainly because it is very good value for money. I think it will be fine if you have more 'normal' hair than mine.
