Advantages: Great value for money, smells lovely
Disadvantages: None
I usually wash and condition my hair with Herbal Essences. I recently ran out of both and found myself up Tesco's, looking to buy some more. I located the Herbal Essences and promptly found out that it would set me back nearly £3 per bottle. I decided to have a look around to see if I could find any special offers that would work our cheaper. This is how I came across Alberto Balsam Strawberry Conditioner. I was amazed to find that I could buy 4 bottles of either shampoo or conditioner for £3. Being very pleased with my bargain, I took it home and decided to try it out.
Packaging
This conditioner comes in a plastic bottle which is just about see through although it is frosted a creamy white colour. The bottle is waterproof which is quite useful for someone as clumsy as me as I tend to drop things in the bath a lot! As I already mentioned, you can see the conditioner through the bottle and it is a light pink colour. The lid is grey and it pops open and closed. If needs be, the lid can be totally screwed off which is useful when you are coming to the end of the bottle. The label running around the bottle gives all the usual information such as ingredients and product information.
Price
As I already mentioned, I purchased this product from Tesco's while it was on special offer and it costs me £3 for four, 400ml bottles which I thought was a bargain.
The Conditioner
The conditioner is a light pink colour and has quite a thick consistency. The moment you open the lid, you can immediately smell the raspberries and the overall smell of this product is sweet and fresh. The smell tends to linger on my hair al day long too which is nice.
Directions For Use
The back of the label reads; "Once you have completed shampooing your hair put a good-sized blob into your hands and massage it into your hair." I tend to just use the conditioner on the ends of my hair as this is where I get dry ends from styling it all the time. You are advised to leave the conditioner in your hair for 1-2 minutes but I usually leave it in for 5 minutes just to make sure my hair soaks up the conditioner.
End Result
I am very pleased with this conditioner. At first, I wasn't sure what to expect because the product had been so cheap, I wasn't sure that it would be as good as my previous conditioner. After using this product, I find my hair to be silky and shiny. I usually brush my hair shortly after washing it and have found that this conditioner leave my hair tangle free which makes it much easier for brushing.
I like the fact that the smell of the conditioner lingers in your hair as I often wear my hair down and throughout the day, can smell it every now and then on myself.
Summary
I would certainly recommend this product. I think that it offers excellent value for money and although it might not have the same affect on my hair as some of the more expensive brands, it certainly does its job and leaves my hair feeling silky and shiny. I think the consistency is just about perfect, not to runny but runny enough that you can easily apply it to your hair. To top it all off, it also smells gorgeous.
Summary: One for any bargain hunter
