Alberto balsam is a range of shampoo and conditioner that claims to have the same ingredients as more expensive brands at a cheaper price. I bought the Sun Kissed Raspberry shampoo and conditioner in a 4 for £3 at Tesco. I usually use Naked colour shampoo and conditioner but I was a bit strapped for cash so got this.

PACKAGING

The picture above is an older picture, the current packaging has a black lid and a slightly different label-see the shampoo reviews on this site. It claims "moisture splash for normal/dry hair". It is easy to handle and open with wet hands.

PRODUCT
------------
The conditioner is an opaque pale pink colour and has a sweet smell, a little bit like raspberry chewy sweets mixed with milk bottle sweets, sweeter than the shampoo which is a little more chemically scented. It is very thick, thicker than most branded conditioners and needs to be tapped to the lid when it's close to empty to get it out (this isn't difficult). Because it is sop thick it doesn't drip so you can leave it in while you do something else if you want to leave it in longer.

APPLICATION

On application the conditioner really sinks into the hair. I felt like I was rinsing off far less than I had applied. I like to comb my hair when the conditioner is in and it was really easy to do, all the tugs fell out instantly and painlessly. Rinsing was easy and quick and my rinsed wet hair was smooth but not slippery or oily.

DRYING
---------
Drying didn't take a long time, I find some conditioners make drying a lengthy affair. I used the conditioner from root to tips and my roots weren't greasy. My hair was smooth soft, without fly-aways (hazard of my hair!). My hair still had the scent at the end of the day (I shower in the morning) and was tug free all day. Moisture splash seems an accurate description, my hair didn't feel dry at all.

I love the smell and feel of my hair when I use this. It won't replace my usual products but I think I will use it again.

Summary: At 99p a bottle it's an absolute steal. Just as good as the branded products.
