Advantages: Cheap and fantastic smell

Disadvantages: Didn't suit my hair type

When I lived at home I remembered my mom using shampoos from the Alberto Balsam range so knew they'd been around a while and were a relatively good brand and since becoming a mom and working part time, I no longer have money to burn on my favourite overpriced shampoos so when I saw this Alberto Balsam sun kissed raspberry herbal shampoo in my local Savers store for 99p I thought I'd give it a try!

I have curly hair which as anyone in the same boat will know is prone to frizz! I therefore opted for this 'moisture splash' raspberry one with juniper an chamomile extract as it is for normal/dry hair.

The bottle claims that the shampoo will 'give your hair a refreshing burst of moisture, leaving your hair smelling and feeling fabulous' It also claims to gently cleanse, revitalise and moisturise and strengthn with pro-vitamin B5.

The bottle contains 400ml of shampoo and is easy to use, with the black cap easily opened by pushing it up (you can even do it 1 handed if need be!)
The shampoo itself is a nice consistency (neither to runny or thick), is a fantastic pink colour (always a bonus for us girly girls!) and has a fabulous smell! I wouldn't say it smells strongly of raspberries per se but it is very fruity and refreshing.

As with most shampoos the bottle advises to wet hair first and then use a 'good dollop' of shampoo to lather up.
I dont know if it's just me (probably!) but I did find that the shampoo came out he bottle rather quickly so more times than not, I lost some of it into the bath but when I did manage to get it on my hair it lathered up very easily.

So now it was on what did I think?! This is really hard to explain but I found as I was washing the shampoo out it made my hair feel rather knotty. As I ran my fingers through to get the suds out I was also having to tug at parts of my hair (especially near the scalp!) This probably doesnt make sense but it made my hair feel a bit squeaky! It did improve slightly after using the conditioner but this has never happened with any other shampoo Ive used before!

After using the shampoo for a while I decided it wasn't for me. I love the fact it is cheap, looks great and smells divine but it obviously just doesn't suit my hair type. After a few hours of washing it had started to go a little dry and frizzy which did leave me a little disappointed.
Saying that I would recommend people to try it as those with other hair types might find they get on better and for 99p you'd be getting a bargain! Shame it wasn't for me!

Also available in tea tingle, green apple, pomegranate, strawberries and cream and blueberry
Just seen on Tescos website this sells there for 89p and is currently on offer any 4 for £3 - fantastic!

Summary: Definitely one to try because if it works for you it is a fantastic bargain.
