Advantages: Fun to use as it smells so minty fresh. Leaves hair strong and shiny.

Disadvantages: Is quite strong smelling and the vapours can feel hot in your eyes!

I recently wrote a review of the Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and liked it so much that I vowed to try the conditioner in the same range. I have since bought and used the conditioner and would love to give my verdict.

The conditioner is called Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Herbal Conditioner and it is not aimed at any particular hair type. On the front of the bottle it states that this conditioner helps "promote healthy hair and scalp". I have often overlooked this whilst shopping in store because of the fact it does not promote a benefit for a particular hair type but do not let this put you off. I have dry hair and the Tea Tingle shampoo and conditioner perform really well.

The product comes as a 400ml sized bottle. The plastic bottle is widely recyclable but it is not possible to remove the non-recyclable lid. The top has the type of lid that flips open but stays attached and this is a handy design as it allows you quick and easy access to the conditioner. The packaging design is impressive although there is a little too much text on the front label, otherwise it would rival a more expensive brand in terms of image. The label on the back shows a list of ingredients and there are directions for use as well as some basic information about the product formula and what it can do for your hair.

Similar to the Tea Tree Tingle shampoo the conditioner can add shine, give you "healthy hair and scalp" and also makes hair strong because the formula contains the pro-vitamin B5. Alberto Balsam, a Unilever brand, also state on the label that the conditioner will leave you with "soft, shiny hair".

The conditioner is a cool green colour. When it is squeezed out it looks quite runny and thin in consistency. I do find I need to use quite a lot of this conditioner compared to other conditioners. I think this is because the conditioner doesn't feel very slimy or fluffy. It doesn't smother the hair, it is quite watery after applying and working through. It's easy enough to cover the whole head of hair though, although hair does not feel especially soft or easy to manage at this stage.

The conditioner has a great fragrance. Unlike the shampoo where you can smell the hints of tea leaf I can only really smell the biting mint in this conditioner. It's a strong, overwhelming fragrance that shocks the senses and is fun to experience although I it can feel a little like my eyes are slightly sensitive to the vapours. This is not the case with the shampoo but this conditioner seems more minty than the shampoo.

I love that the fragrance remains in the hair and used after the matching shampoo this feels like the icing on the cake. It leaves your hair smelling so fresh and zesty!

I find my hair is easy to manage when I'm drying it and it doesn't take a lot of effort or any extra product to leave my hair in a decent state when dry.

As a person with dry and bleached hair I'm very impressed that this range is so effective in transforming my hair into something that looks strong, shiny and healthy. The shine factor is fantastic and my hair moves well and feels like it's been given extra strength!

Whilst not as impressive or as enjoyable to use as the shampoo I really like this conditioner and would definitely recommend it and I intend to buy it again. It really makes washing and conditioning your hair a real experience instead of just a chore. You can buy this conditioner for around £1 and I would be happy to pay more than double that for this.

Summary: Great conditioner, well worth the money.
