Advantages: smells lovely - leaves hair feeling clean - rinces out easily
Disadvantages: none for me but some might not like the smell
For many years now I have been using Alberto Balsam Tee Tree Tingle shampoo. Very occasionally I get all extravagant and try something else but always come back to Alberto.
My hair is thick but fine and has a natural wave and over the years it has ranged from chin length to waist length and back again. I rarely use more than hairspray but will occasionally use a bit of mousse or spray for my straighteners. My hair isn't coloured and isn't particularly dry or greasy so I usually buy a shampoo for normal hair.
Alberto Balsam Tea Tree tingle shampoo comes in a 400ml sqeezy bottle with a flip top lid that can also be removed. The shampoo claims to promote health hair and scalp. The shampoo is a clear green liquid. The label states that this is an herbal shampoo with tea tree and mint extracts.
At the moment (Jan 2012) Alberto Balsam Tea Tree tingle is available from Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys for £1.00 with Asda and Sainsburys offering 4 for £3.00. This offer includes the conditioner and the other varieties availble in this range.
I can't say I have ever read the instructions but I generally squirt a dollop into my hand and then massage it through my hair massaging it into the scalp and ensuring that all my hair is covered. The shampoo rubs in easily and creates a nice lather. The shampoo does have a very distinctive smell which I love but my husband dislikes. I guess it is all down to taste so I would recommend having a quick sniff before you decide if this is a shampoo you want to try.
When I want to rinse my hair out I tend to start at the back and work forward in sections making sure that I get right into the root and around my ears and hairline. I find this shampoo rinses out easily whether I am in the shower or bath.
I have found with other shampoo that after a few washes my hair stops feeling clean and even feels like there is a residue left on my hair I have never found this with the Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle which is why I keep returning to this brand. This shampoo leaves my hair feeling fresh and clean and smelling wonderful.
I would say that this shampoo would be suitable for any hair type and I would also recommend using the Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle conditioner with it.
Tea Tree oil is known to repel midges, flying insects and even head lice so this shampoo could also protect from the dreaded nits if you have children bringing them into the house. I buy a special children's shampoo that contains tea tree oil that is advertised as head lice repellent. Please see my review for Vosene kids 3 in 1 head lice shampoo and conditioner.
I would recommend this shampoo as it is relatively cheap compared to some brands on the market it smells great and it leaves my hair feeling clean, what more can you ask of a shampoo?
