Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, does the job well, attractive packaging

Disadvantages: If I have to find one....... smell doesn't linger for very long on my hair

I'm currently using a bottle of this shampoo, so writing a review seemed like a good idea....!

First off, why did I buy this one?
- I've used some Alberto Balsam products before and got on ok with them
- The price was pretty tempting (under a pound in Tesco - I think the normal price is £1 but I got it on special). I'm sure it must be available elsewhere but can't give you a list of stockists, I'm afraid.
- I like greeny/turquoisey sort of colours, so that appealed (hardly a good reason to buy shampoo I know, but then I'm easily swayed!)

Obviously before buying it I checked whether it was suitable for my greasy hair - the strapline on the front didn't seem to say whether it was for greasy or dry but this particular variety aims to give you healthy hair and scalp according to the label. Seemed fair enough, I can go for that.

So I tried it........

This is clearly badged as a tea tree shampoo, but it does mention mint being involved as well. I wasn't particularly aware of the mint but enjoyed the fairly strong tea tree smell - tea tree always seems like a clean smell to me, so I'm quite happy if my hair winds up smelling clean :-)

It lathers up ok and I needed about the amount of shampoo I would expect to use. It's about right in terms of thickness, not so thin it runs out of your hand before you can get it on your hair, nor so thick you spend 5 minutes trying to get it out of the bottle!

My hair feels definitely clean afterwards, it gets rid of the excess oil from my hair but without stripping it of oil completely, which would just encourage my head to produce even more oil to redress the balance. So it's a winner there for me.

When it is first washed, the tea tree makes my hair smell nicely fresh and clean, but the smell doesn't last a particularly long time.

The bottle is lasting well, so I would say it is good value for money, especially if you can pick it up when it is on special.

Would I buy it again? Happily :-)

Summary: Well worth a try to see if it suits your hair
