Advantages: Cheap, smells nice, it works on greasy hair, big 400ml bottle, contains natural extracts
Disadvantages: It stings like hell if it gets in your eyes!
Alberto Balsam tea tree tingle herbal shampoo:
It was August 2009 when I had just finished a big 400ml bottle of Herbal Essences fresh balance. I was delighted with the product which worked for my greasy hair. I went into Boots to get some more only to find they were out of stock! I searched around for a replacement, only to find Alberto Balsam tea tree tingle herbal shampoo. At £1.07 for 400ml, this seemed the next best thing to the own brand!
Appearance:
I only looked at this when I got home, to find it was the 'deep cleansing' variety. The bottle is an opaque, thin & circular bottle. A black flip-top lid is situated at the top with the Alberto Balsam logo at the top. A picture of tea tree is put in the middle of the bottle in which the bottle promotes 'healthy hair & scalp'. This shampoo contains tea tree & mint extracts.
Smell:
This smells like a really fresh shampoo. It smells like it could really give your hair a deep clean & the mint & tea tree extracts is what make it smell so fresh! Unlike Herbal Essences, this smells really life-like as I put it. It is a really fresh smell & i've never smelt another shampoo like this.
Claims:
As mentioned earlier in this review, this shampoo claims to promote healthy hair & scalp. On the reverse of the bottle, it claims to make you want to leap out of bed & awaken your senses (yeah right!) & it will leave you feeling minty fresh. It also claims to have the same ingredients as more expensive brands, but at a great price! It also claims to:
* _gently clean_
* _help promote healthy hair & scalp_
* _strengthen with pro-vitamin B5_
In Use:
I jumped in the shower (not literally!) & wet my hair, I then flipped up the lid to find a little hole of about 1/2 an inch long, which was perfect to dispense the shampoo from. It delivered just the right amount of shampoo for my hair. I squeezed the right amount of thick gloopy product onto my hair & began to rub it in. Instantly the shampoo made a nice smell in the shower & bathroom but also made the perfect amount of lather on my hair. It was just the right amount to wash in & rinse out easily.
Beware though, it stings like hell if you get it in your eyes! It dosen'y take much rinsing but it still hurts & makes your eyes go red raw! So, after I learned not to taze my eyeballs with the product I learned to be more careful, & it has worked!
Results:
After I dried my hair it felt really soft, light & bouncy. It worked perfectly for my greasy hair & it left a lovely smell on my hair & in the shower too! The shampoo blitzed my hair & left it lovely, but one note, I did use conditioner which also helped!
Summary:
This shampoo worked gret for the £1.07 I paid for it! i'm now nearing the end of my 3rd bottle which is good! You can alsod buy this in a twin pack for approx. £1.69 which is also good value! Use the matching conditioner with this, it works brilliantly & helps you along the way to healthy, shiny hair!
