Advantages: smells nice, cheap, makes your hair shiney & soft...for a bit....

Disadvantages: It doesn't last, using on dry hair makes it a bit greasy

I've been reading a lot of foxyred's great reviews lately, and as I commented to her, its making me examine my own hair to see whether I should pay more attention....it appears I should! My hair is very long and thick and I dye it black fairly often (the profile pic of me with highlighted hair is 2 years old!) so examining it, it does look exhausted quite frankly!

I don't often style my hair for work, usually because I cant be bothered and also where I work is very casual so its not really necessary. If I'm in a rush, I'm happy to twist it and put it up wet, (which is no doubt causing the breakage!) and if I have time I will blast it with a hairdryer (I usually don't have time, my hair takes a ridiculous amount of time to dry!!)

Going out wise I will straighten it with my trusty GHD's and occasionally GHD curly it or use tongs or rollers for waves. So as you can imagine, it isn't every day that my hair is subjected to all sorts of heated objects, but then again, I don't often treat it to any TLC so I can see whys its looking tired! I treat it once a week to a leave in conditioner but apart from that its usually a wash and go jobby!

At the moment, the ends look really bad, they are extremely dry and not long after brushing my hair, it seems to be sticking together in dry tangled clumps making it look like I haven't brushed it at all! I also have lots of fly-away hair all over that could do with a bit of taming! The roots & mid lengths are very dark and healthy looking apart from the fly-aways, and my hair smells lovely and feels fairly soft due to my good shampoo and conditioner, but the end 5-6 inches look horribly dry and frizzy as well as feeling quite coarse - I have had a recent hair cut so it shouldn't be this bad!
The only time my hair looks long dark and shiny is when I have the GHD's on it, and I just refuse to go through that rigmarole every day so a solution is definitely required!

The Rescue Remedy
****************

Digging around in my bag of stuff, I come across this miracle mist which promises to detangle and add shine - exactly what I am after. Basically this spray is a leave in conditioner that is supposed to help protect against breakage (this seems to be my main problem) which will leave hair "fabulously frizz free, smooth silky shiny hair".

It is a 150ml bottle, blue with a pump action top, easy to use and a nice shape for easy use whilst you are trying to spray your hair (its like a water pump shape that they use in the hairdressers) The bottle also states that it is great with heated appliances and that its suitable for "heat damaged or frizzy hair". My hair is probably a bit of both so I am hoping that this will provide me with the miracle it promises! There is lots of talk on the back of the bottle about various vitamins contained that will add shine.

Application & My Thoughts
**********************

I follow the instructions and apply to my wet, towel dried hair and as its Saturday morning, I have time to blow dry it - hurrah! The bottle is fairly easy and sprays covering a reasonable section of hair. As I mentioned I have a lot of hair so I take care to make sure I've covered it all and its lengths and them comb through. The smell is pleasant - I'm not so good at explaining smells I'm afraid but it smells a bit perfumed and almost fruity. This smell does linger but as I say, its pleasant so not a problem!

After I dry my hair, I notice that my hair does appear to be slightly smoother in appearance - I do have less fly-away hairs and the ends now feel silky smooth to match the rest of my hair. There is no greasy residue which is nice so at this point I'm fairly pleased!

Just when I thought I'd cracked it with something I had bought earlier....
************************************************* ***
Feeling pleased with my quick fix which I didn't have to go out and buy ( I was going to try Foxyreds suggestion of the Tony&Guys stuff, Mel - maybe I should've!) I started getting my stuff together to leave the house. Within 10 minutes of me doing this, brushing my hair and putting my coat on, I notice that my hair looks exactly the same as it did before I used this stuff! My fly- away hairs are now back and sticking out at various angles, and my hair is all clumpy at the bottom. It still feels soft but I'm extremely annoyed! I have read a couple of reviews on this - on here and the other side - and all have said it really is a miracle cure - am I really the only one that this didn't work for, hmmm?!

I then decided to use it on my now dry hair as suggested on the bottle. As before, you are supposed to spray it on to your hair and it apparently reduces frizz. However I soon realise that maybe I was a bit over-zealous with the spray as my hair now looks a bit greasy...I cant win! Ibviously, it actually chucked it down in SW London today, so It appears I needn't have bothered anyway, although that's hardly the point! (it at least saved me from my greasy hair for the morning, when I came home I re-washed it!!)

I don't think I will be using this in the near future on my dry hair as it made the appearance of my hair worse. However, I will carry on using this on my dry hair if I'm blow drying and perhaps I will spray it on my hair wet and leave it when I don't have time in the mornings. I have no idea if its protecting my hair from the heat or not to be honest, but I like to think its got one of its claims right...

Summary & The Reality:
***********************

==Frizz Free ==
For all of 10 minutes

==Protects against heat styling ==
Perhaps, but how do we know for sure? Unless our hair does/doesn't fall out in 5 years time that is!

== Detangles ==
Again, it appears to, but this doesn't really last long. I didn't really notice much difference after I had applied it on wet hair and combed through, but that might be because my hair is long and gets tangly easily anyway!

== Adds Shine ==
Generally, yes, just don't use it on dry hair unless you fancy a hair full of grease!

==Cost ==
Currently selling in Boots for £2.99. Fairly reasonable if it did all it claims!

Summary: Miraculous? No.
