Advantages: detangles, unfrizzes, smells nice, calms unruly hair
Disadvantages: a little difficult to get hold of, can make scalp greasy
I have shoulder length hair that is naturally wavy and can become quite frizzy at times. In a bid to calm my hair and make it look more presentable I bought V05 miracle mist for the first time a couple of years ago and it's a product that I've kept going back to. Although miracle mist is primarily formulated for heat damaged hair and can also prevent heat damage when applied before a heating appliance is used, it is also suitable for controlling frizz. I don't tend to straighten or hair dry my hair very often, but with my sister getting married a couple of months ago I put my hair through its paces with hair dye, straighteners and curlers. It was an Asian wedding, and as I'm sure you'll know these tend to last a few days with various functions and ceremonies. By the end of it all my hair was crying out for some love and attention and I found myself reaching for this.
Miracle mist is housed in a blue triangular shaped bottle which has a trigger pump at the top through which the product is dispensed. However it appears that the packaging has now been revamped and it now comes in a white coloured bottle with a pink lid. Each bottle contains 150ml of product and costs £4.39. Miracle mist is made up of a blend of 5 vitamins along with active shine boosters and claims to leave hair looking and feeling vitally alive. I would have liked to know what the 5 vitamins were (I quite like the sciency bits on hair care/cosmetics) but there was no information on this on the bottle. The product also claims to detangle hair and helps protect against breakage.
As I explained above I usually use this to ease frizz but recently have been using it a lot more to help my hair recover from the trauma of my sisters wedding! To use I spray this onto just-washed hair that has been towel dried. I spray a small amount all over the strands of my hair and tend to avoid getting this onto the top of my head as I find that it starts to make my scalp feel heavy and greasy. Once squirted onto my hair I run a comb through and style as normal. I should point out here that this is a product that is meant to be left in the hair and not rinsed out. After using this regularly for a few weeks my hair is looking a lot more healthier and not so dry and brittle, although I am sure the shampoo and conditioner I have been using also had a role to play in this.
In terms of detangling it does a very good job. I tend to use a conditioner almost all the time when I wash my hair and this gets most of the tangles out, but inevitably some do remain and Miracle mist does a great job of detangling the rest of my hair. Miracle mist also does an excellent job of calming my frizzy hair, making it look a lot more presentable! The effects last for a long time and if I use this in the morning then it's only by late afternoon that my hair starts to get a little frizzy again. That's quite good in my opinion! The spray also smells lovely. It smells very sweet and not to dissimilar to the smell you come across when you walk into a hair salon.
The only downside to this product is that it can be a little difficult to get hold of. I remember when I ran out of my first bottle I hunted around many shops for this and couldn't find it anywhere - even large branches of Boots didn't appear to stock it and I thought that it had been discontinued. However, it seems to have made a comeback this year which I am really pleased about, although so far I have only seen it in larger branches of Boots. Overall though I am very happy with this product from V05 and would have no hesitations in recommending.
Summary: Makes unruly hair presentable!
