Advantages: Fabulous

Disadvantages: None at all in my opinion!

Very rarely do I use a wax type of product on my hair. To be honest with you with jaw-length hair I haven't really felt the need and never in the past really got on with it anyway. However having jaw-length hair can be a bit of a problem when it comes to going to the gym and jogging and stuff like that (which I do daily). It's a bit too long to allow it to flop all my sweaty face but hard work to put it in a band (as in a ponytail) due to my hair being so fine and not quite long enough so I end up looking a right old scruff bag!

However I have found to get my hair to do anything (on gym days) that I do need to wash and straighten my hair the night before in which case then I can get my hair to behave itself reasonably well with ten ton of hairspray!

However I have been mooching through some of my Mums stuff lately and been trying it all out lol. This was one product I though was worth a go! I have really bad wispy, short bits of hair around my ears that curl up and are too sort to straighten and I really wanted to see if it could tame that down at all whilst giving my hair some 'grip'!

The Packaging....

First off I must point out that this product is from this range of products but it's called 'Soft Moulding Wax'. I'm not sure whether this product has actually over taken from this 'Extreme Style Gel Wax' or what but Dooyoo have said to write my review here, so here I am!

The pot is as pictured at the top of this review in the main. Royal blue plastic 75ml round tub with matching screw on/off lid to the top of it. On the main of the pot I'm told it is VO5 'New Improved Look' Soft Moulding Wax which is 'For definition, shine and frizz control'. Other information on the pot tells me a bit about the product and gives me directions for use (including tips), ingredients are listed along with contact details for Alberto-Culver (the manufacturer of VO5 products), the size is stated and finally there is bar-code on there. Nice, neat little pot this and easy to use and functional too.

A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Pot....

Long lasting definition
Adds shine & tames frizz
Ideal to re-style, through the day
Non-sticky natural feeling hair
Washes out easily

Directions For Use....

Use on/damp dried hair for a lasting natural look.
Use on dry hair for the finishing touch to your style.

Extra Tips....

Use sparingly, a little goes a long way. You can always add more if needed. Warm by rubbing between the palms of your hands, before applying to the hair. VO5 Soft Moulding Wax can be used other after styling products.

Me Using It....

Well I use this on my finished style in the main and now on a daily basis. I do use other styling products as well and say I'm having my hair in a ponytail, my hair will be styled that way and I will direct some wax on my hair to 'set' it and define etc.

So as VO5 tell us a little of this product goes a long way and when I opened the tub for the first time I did expect to be greeted with what I consider to be a hard wax product. Well this isn't so! This is a light pink in colour, creamy but slightly set (until you dig into the pot) berry fruity smelling wax. It's odd in appearance lol.

However this stuff is fabulous and very easy to use indeed. As I say I get a small amount into my hands, rub it slightly to warm it through and therefore make it easier to use (though it's easy anyway to be honest) and then gently run it through my hair. So impressed am I with this, that I've nicked me Mums pot permanently and don't just use it for the gym but lets talk about that first shall we!?!

With it being a wax I did expect it to not be so good in humidity. But it holds amazingly well. Like I say I just use it really in place of my usual hairspray and gently run some through my finished style but if you have really naughty hair run this through first and then style etc if desired. Not only once it's on the hair can you not feel it this is strong holding in a really natural way that gives a lovely clean sheen to the hair that makes the hair radiate with health! It feels great and even with my sweat and body heat my style looks amazing even if I don't! The warmer I get the cleaner my hair smells to as the smell of this becomes slightly more apparent and yes you can re-style with this in and it washes out with ease too!

Now the reason I pinched this permanently is because not only do I find it great and functional for my hard to style for the gym problem this is fabulous on longer hair too for big nights out etc! As I said previously my hair is jaw-length and has layers in it and a fringe. A little of this gently rubbed through my layers not only defines them and holds their style and gives it a nice sheen but really it refreshes otherwise tired looking hair and styles and gives the hair an edgy look! It diminishes frizz with ease and is controlling in a way you can't feel! I think this is amazing, I lurve it!

My Mums pot cost her £2.89 in Boots (Don't worry folks I am replacing her pot for her too lol).

Summary: Brill!
