Advantages: IT WORKS!
Disadvantages: I can't find any!
I'm a sucker for dyeing my hair bright and interesting colours and I've been doing it for five years. Watching as your colour goes down the drain is a very sad feeling so I set about finding a shampoo and conditioner that preserved my hair colour for much longer. Finding a shampoo that doesn't totally kill your colour has been quite difficult but I've settled on this one.
To get you familiar with what I use to dye my hair its a bleaching kit (to brighten my chocolate coloured hair!) and then LaRiche Direction hair colour.
The first time I used VO5 Fade Defy was last year a week after I'd dyed my hair 'plum' purple. and where directions only really lasts two or three weeks at its brightest, when I used VO5 Fade Defy Shampoo AND Conditioner, it was vibrant for at least a week longer than usual. It was great and I was really amazed at the difference it makes and so were my friends, they commented about how long it stayed in for.
I have started to use them a day before the colour goes in and then while the colour is in up until its pretty much gone. This takes a good month for this process and I don't continually dye my hair to prevent it from going straw-like. I wait until the bleach grows out then start again.
You can find the shampoo and conditioner for sale at shops like boots or super drug and in supermarkets for around £3 - £4. Its well worth the investment, it does what it says on the tin and it makes your hair feel very soft indeed. I love the stuff.
Summary: Seriously long lasting colour!
