Advantages: smoother hair, less breakages
Disadvantages: To much faffing around.
I bought this because since being pregnant and having my daughter, my hair has dried out and become really brittle. It breaks constantly and looks like straw. So one day while in savers, I spotted this and upon reading the back of the box, thought that my hair was definately needing some hot oil treatment. I purchased it for a fairly pricey sum of £2.99 for three tubes. The box that the tubes come in is a silvery blue with a blue band across the top. Inside this blue band it says reconstructs damaged hair. It has the usual vo5 logo on the front and a picture of a glass with one of the tubes in. It has hot oil written in gold letters and the word moisturising below this. A brief description says moisturises and smooths dry and frizzy hair. This product says that it will reconstruct my hair in one minute while restoring moisture and reducing breakages from brushing up to 60%. Not only that but it will double the strength of my hair. Sounds good, in theory but time to put it to the test. First I should just explain what the tube look like, it is a plastic tube that holds 15ml of this oil. It has a top that twists off that can be inverted to reseal if nessecary. On the back of the tube is directions of use. The oil inside is a orange colour and very runny. So the instructions are as follows 1) Use before shampooing, 2) place unopened tube in a glass of warm water to heat, it doesn`t say how long to warm for so I left it for roughly 2 minutes. 3) wet hair and twist off top and apply to hair ( any unused oil can be saved as explained before. 4) massage into hair for one minute only Do Not Exceed this time. 5) rinse and shampoo making sure to avoid contact with eyes. So how easy was it to actually apply. Well in all honesty I struggled. I managed to heat up the tube in the glass, and wet hair. I then twisted off the top, and now comes the bit I found a littl
e difficult. Remember I am trying to give an honest opinion here about my experience. I poured some oil on to my hand and then went to put the tube down and while I was doing that the oil nearly fell out of my hand, but managing to control that, I tried to massage the oil into my hair. Because I had not put all the oil into my hand for fear of losing it out of the sides of my hand, I didn`t have enough. Now is where I get confused because as I had already massaged some into my hair and not wanting to exceed the time limit, I didn`t get chance to cover all my hair, I rinsed the oil off. I was unsure that if I had to make two applications that something bad would happen to my hair. After all it is already in a bad way I don`t want to be making it any worse. baffled yet! well so was I. I am not daft by all means but the instructions on this product to me are not clear. It says that this oil is designed to work in one minute but I found it difficult to understand. I must now add that I have used it again since that day and still found it a chore. The results were good though and my hair did seem less drier and smoother than before, but I will not be using this again as there must be easier way to get smoother and shinier hair. It is a widely known product and available from most superstores and other various shops. Since buying these I have found that it comes in one big tube so I might have had a better experience with that. Advantages hair feels smoother and softer looks slightly shinier less breakages. Disadvantages too much hard work involved It is made by Alberto at Alberto-Culver.co UK LTD Basingstoke,Hants Rg24 8WH My final verdict is try it and see what you think as this is just my personal experience. I give it a 2 out of 10. Thanks for reading and rating. Please feel free to leave me a comment as all are helpful. x
