Advantages: Smells lovely, makes my hair feel refreshed, cheap
Disadvantages: Quality of the bottle
When I was in need of some shampoo and conditioner I just wanted whatever was on offer until I had more money to splash out on the more expensive brands that I like to use. This is when I came across VO5's range in Asda, which was on offer at the time for only £1 per 250ml bottle. They have a few different shampoo's and conditioners to choose from but only their 'Revive me Daily' range seemed to be on offer, I wasn't sure why but I decided to give them a go anyway.
The 'Revive me Daily' range is designed for normal hair and to refresh tired, limp or dull hair and is perfect for everyday use. I do not wash my hair everyday but more like every other day. I expect that if I did use this shampoo everyday then the results would be better than what I got, and so this range from VO5 may be suitable for you if you do wash your hair everyday.
The bottles are very girly and pink, and so this attracted me to buying this range even more, especially when you compare them to the old style blue bottles. I am not usually one to buy omething just for its packaging as this can often be deceiving, but VO5 have done a very good job at these bottles standing out on the shelf!
When I first used the shampoo and squeezed some out, I heard a little pop and noticed that at the bottom of the bottle the plastic cracked slightly and so when I squeezed the bottle the shampoo would actually come out at both ends! My first impressions at that moment were not good, as I thought this would result in me wasting a lot of shampoo over time. However, by keeping the bottle upside down all the time this meant no shampoo would come out, I also made sure the bottle was kept away from the shower so that when the water ran out it would not slowly sink into the crack making the shampoo watery.
Other than this, I ended up with great results from this shampoo. The scent was lovely, as this particular range contains avocado oil, argan oil, apricot oil, grape seed oil and jojoba oil. My hair still smelt quite fruity on the second day after using it, which doesn't happen often with shampoo's I have used in the past.
My hair actually felt weightless after using this shampoo and it really did feel 'refreshed'. Only a small amount of shampoo is needed on my medium length hair and this seems to be enough. My hair also felt noticeably soft and smooth but I put this down to using the 'Revive me Daily' conditioner after shampooing. Overall I loved the results of this shampoo and will definitely consider buying this brand again, but I may opt for a different range next time as this one is meant to be designed for everyday use. I won't let the crack in the bottom of the bottle put me off either as I am hoping it will be just a one off with that bottle.
This is available in all supermarkets and other high street shops such as Boots and Superdrug. I often see this in different promotions but at the moment this is on 3 for 3 from Boots, but for the 500ml bottles which cost £3.59 each. The 250ml bottles I bought from Asda are very often priced at only £1 each.
Summary: A good shampoo that I would consider purchasing again.
