I try all different types of shampoos and conditioners for my hair and my hubby goes crazy as he always complains that I never finish off one bottle before I go out and buy another - it makes the bathroom cabinet look a real old mess as there are half full bottle everywhere.
I first tried VO5 Silky Smooth Elixer Shampoo a few months ago when Home Bargains were selling it along with the matching conditioner for only £1.29 for a very large bottle. I quite like the range and so I decided to buy it as it was a good price. The bottle stands on its head and has a flip up lid which shuts firmly and stops any shampoo from running out when not in use.
The smell is lovely. I know some people have given it negative reviews in terms of fragrance so maybe it's just me - but I actually really love the smell. It is quite strong but to me t smells sort of flowery and vanilla-smelling at the same time. The shampoo itself is medium thickness in consistency and it lathers up really well. I only ever wash my hair with it once - that's all my hair needs and it rinses off well. I also have used the matching conditioner and they both work together really well. The bottle is large and you don't need to use a lot so it lasts me for ages.
It seems to help me with frizzy ends and it helps to make my hair look in better conditioner and it even adds a bit of shine and gloss, which I really love. I cannot find this in Home Bargains any more but as soon as I do I shall buy more.
I don't religiously buy one brand of hair care products, I do religiously shop around for a good price. That's when I purchased this VO5 shampoo, it says on the back of the bottle that it leaves hair healthy looking and brilliantly glossy hair, sounds perfect and only cost me £2.
----- Packaging -----
The 300ml shampoo comes in a very pretty pink colour bottle, sporting the product name and telling us it's specifically for dull, frizzy, heat damaged hair. The back of the bottle tells us all the information we need to know including ingredients. It also says that it is infused with 5 vital oil blends that are nutrient rich, strengthening and shine enhancing. The shape of the bottle is a little unusual the basic body of the bottle is a normal shape then the lid kind of raises at one side where the lid opens. The lid is easy to open one handed as has quite a big hole so the product is easy to dispense.
----- The shampoo -----
The shampoo is white in colour and has quite a thick consistency. It doesn't take much shampoo to create a nice lather when rubbing it into your hair so the bottle will last a relatively long time, and for the price I think this is good.
I'm not sure how to describe the scent, when smelling it from the bottle it smells vile, like a chemical sort of smell, it did stop me from using it at first but I soon ran out of my other shampoo so had to use it! Although it doesn't smell nice in the bottle, when I'm using it on my hair it doesn't smell as bad and has a clean and fresh scent.
The whole reason for buying this shampoo, other than the price, was the claims that it leaves hair 'brilliantly glossy'. I wasn't impressed, after drying my hair it didn't look any more glossy than usual. It did feel soft and smooth, and did give it a bit of volume, and after straightening my hair it wasn't as frizzy as usual, but not glossy in the slightest.
----- Overall -----
I'm undecided on whether I would recommend this shampoo. If you are looking for a shampoo that leaves your hair less frizzy then I would, but if you are looking for glossy hair, I wouldn't. Since VO5 state that this hair leaves your hair glossy, I was very disappointed when it didn't. I don't think I will be purchasing this again.
I recently have changed my shampoo to V05 silky smooth shampoo, i was after a shamoo that would make my hair feel soft and look shiny and healthy.
The bottle is pink and is easy to spot on the shelf in the store as it says V05 In big letters, i paid just £1 for mine as i had it from a warehouse in Willenhall called hootys, but normal price is around £2 for a 300ml bottle i have saw it in various other supermarkets, its also for sale in superdrug and boots .
My hair can be frizzy at times and was lacking in shine so i was eager to try this, it has a flip lid so is easy to use in the shower, this shampoo has 5 vital oils in it they are....
Avocado & jojoba oils full which are rich in nutrients
Apricot and Almond oils which help to strengthen
Grape seed oil enchancing shine.
The smell i can't put my finger on it smells ok but i think it could smell better, sorry can't say anymore about the smell, its an awkward smell to describe, and i think its one of those smells like perfume you will either love it or hate it.
The shampoo is thick and clear and i only needed a small amount which turned into a good lather, it easily rinsed out.
My hair felt much healthier and it also tamed my frizz, it felt soft and smooth and i like how it makes my hair shine, even from the first time i used it.
I have a sensitive scalp i was fine with this shamoo though.
I would definately recommend this shampoo
Thanks for reading
I am a bit of a cheapskate, and dont tend to splash out silly amounts for shampoos, so look for offers on buy one get frees, and half price etc! Usually I get a Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner on offer, but during a trip to the supermarket a few weeks ago, I couldnt believe the price they were charging for my usual (maybe as they had gotten rid of all my normal sized bottles and replaced them with huge ones!)
So I scouted about, and came upon a VO5 silky smooth elixir that caught my eye. Not only was it on a buy one get one free offer, it was reasonably priced at £2.35 a bottle, and the main thing that caught my eye was the pearly pink colour of the shampoo bottle. There are 5 pretty pink water droplets that circle around the name of the shampoo, with a little blurb that tells us it is infused with 5 vital oils.
After closer inspection, I saw that this sounded perfect for my nightmare mane, as its made for dull, frizzy and heat damaged hair - that describes my hair to a T! The bottle claims that the shampoo 'smooths hair to tame frizz, leaves hair with a radiant shine, and is ideal for hair exposed to heat styling tools'. So I hoped this would work, as if so it was perfectly made with mops like mine in mind, and I have lost count of the times I have bought things to try tame my frizz and nothing worked.
The first time I used the shampoo, I wasn't too sure about the smell. Its not quite fruity, although it is close, but almost with a hint of that chemically smell you get from the hairdressers. I'm still undecided if I like the smell, but it doesn't make my hair smell foul, so it will do!!
As I have such long thich hair, I often end up using a few handfulls of shampoo to get it all cleaned, but I squeezed a medium sized blob into my hand. The colour of the shampoo was a very, very pale pink, and it was pearly too, like the bottle.
I lathered the shampoo into my wet hair, and was amazed at how quickly and just how much the shampoo lathered up. The scent of the bubbles seemed more delicate once they were lathered up, and that small blob I had put in my hand was more than enough to cover all my hair and give it a fantastic clean.
A big test for me is how my hair feels once the shampoo is rinsed off and before I apply conditioner. Usually, if my hair feels like straw once the shampoo is gone, the conditioner usually isn't up to scratch and my hair feels awful.
As I rinsed this Elixir off, my hair felt so smooth and soft, almost to the point I debated wether or not I actually needed any conditioner at all. Even though I did in the end, I still reckon I could have got by without it.
Once my hair was dryed, I set about straightening it. I often find that the shampoo I use effects the way my GHD's straighten my hair, cheap, rubbish shampoos dont give me a clean straighten, and I still get frizz.
My straighteners glided superbly over my hair, and the finished look was up to hairdresser standards! Not only was my hair silky smooth and felt unbelievably soft, it was shining! My dull, lifeless straw hair had a shine to it that I hadnt needed various other little bottles and tubes to get!
This is down to the 5 vital oils the shampoo includes, which are - Avocada and jojoba oil, apricot and almond oil, and, the secret to the shine, grape seed oil.
As I said before, I am a cheapskate and wont pay salon prices for my hair products, mainly because I have spent a fortune in the past for things not to work, but I think I may have now found my secret weapon to luxurious locks, and I founf it cheaply in the supermarket!
I have previously used a range of shampoos and thought I would give this one a go, when I seen it for £1 a bottle, which you cant really go wrong with.
The bottle is a light pink and holds 300ml of shampoo. The lid flips up and there is a small hole, for the shampoo to come out. On the front of the bottle it states that the shampoo is infused with five vital oils and the shampoo is for dull, frizzy and heat damaged hair. There is then more information on the back of the bottle, which includes the ingredients and more information about the shampoo.
Using the shampoo:
I always find the best way to use the shampoo is to wet your hair and then lather the shampoo into it. The shampoo smells good and you only need to use a small amount. It is easy to wash out and leaves my hair smelling clean and fresh. After using the shampoo, my hair looks and feels more healthy then before.
Overall I would recommend this shampoo, it does what it says on the bottle. The shampoo, is widely available in most chemists and supermarkets.
Ever the one for bargain Wilkinsons is always my first port of call when it comes to buying products. You look in places like Boots to find a facewash that costs £2.97, head over to Wilko's and you can buy the same for half the price. Generally when it comes to shampoo I very rarely buy the same product twice and so seeing Albert VO5 on the shelf I figured well why not?
The bottle contains 300ml of shampoo which already is a good thing as it's sure to last a while, especially as someone who doesn't need to wash their hair everyday. It has a flip cap lid which opens easily and even though I prefer the packaging which has the lid at the bottom the shampoo isn't thick and gloopy so it pours out easily. Meaning that you know it's all been used and you aren't leaving half of it behind because you can't get at it.
The scent itself is quite sweet and perfume smelling so possibly not one of the male population to invest in. Unless they like a feminine whiff to surround their head. On saying that it doesn't last long so after a few hours the fragrance does fade, you aren't going to be aware of it until you get right up close, lucky me for having longish hair!
It lathers up well so you really don't need very much even if you have particularly dry hair. The problem I have found is that this means it does take a little longer to rinse but that wouldn't matter so much if you have short or thinner locks. After drying it definitely produces a nicer shine and feels a good deal smoother possibly down to the five vital oils it's quick to point out which supposedly keep it strong. This is where it has it's downfall.
As I've mentioned I do have excessively thick hair so I really do not need to wash it more than twice a week otherwise it gets greasy. I noticed after a few weeks of using it that my hair was becoming dirty more regularly. I had started to put it down to the fact that as I was decorating at the time maybe the dust and mild exercise was having an effect but once I'd finished obviously my idea was a bit stupid. It seemed that my hair would be clean for one day before it went disgustingly greasy and I had only one explanation. Once I'd swapped with another brand automatically my hair started to improve. Maybe this product would be better for people who have problems with dry hair but as for those of us who have normal to combination I'd suggest to avoid.
I'm not going to lie I bought this largely because the price was only 97p, not one for me to miss out. I think that even if they lowered the price it is one I wouldn't be returning to. It was such a bad product that I didn't finish the whole bottle doing something which I very rarely do...threw it out. I suppose you get what you pay for but as this was an Alberto VO5 product I had expected better quality item. A massive let down and not one I'd recommend.
This shampoo I picked up two weeks ago I think it a great shampoo. I've used it a lot over the past two weeks because I love the smell and it makes my hair bouncy and great to style! I usually use an expensive shampoo but it just shows you a cheaper shampoo does the job perfect! The first wash was when I noticed my hair had bounce.
I dried it and it had so much volume even without having to create it with my brush. I often notice after using other shampoos my hair still looks flat and I hate that! A slight bit of volume can make all the difference to your face. I noticed my hair had lots of shine after using this, which it never ever does usually. I recently went from blonde to brunette well a year ago and never could I find a shampoo that really gave me that radiant shine! Okay its not like when you the girls off the advert flip their hair and it shines like mad but its getting there! and it's nice to see it looking more healthy.
I'm going to keep using this shampoo, as it's become a favourite of mine now. The shampoo means to give a satin silk feel to your hair. Maybe not that soft but it is noticeably softer after the first wash. It has 5 vital oils our hair needs to stay strong against damage like colouring and blow-drying. The oils are Avocado oil, almond oil, jojoba oil and grape seed. All rich in moisture for the hair. You should follow the shampoo with the same conditioner: silky, smooth elixir conditioner this gives the hair the perfect finish to the wash just use a small amount if you suffer with greasy hair and more if your hair is dry and damaged. For the frizz I didn't notice a difference but maybe over more time that may be helped.
You get 300ml in the bottle, which is plenty to last you through 3 weeks depending on much you wash your hair. It restores your hair back to its natural beauty and gives it more life and for only £1.29 it's a great deal. You can pick this up in most supermarkets and chemists I got mine online.
The bottle is very smart looking and the shape is very much like a shower gel bottle which is different from the look off most shampoo's. I love the smell after washing my hair its very grape smelling mixed with lemon a very gorgeous scent!
5 stars from me!
Alberto VO5 are a well known haircare brand, which have just released their Elixir range. This consists of a number of shampoos and conditioners which are infused with five vital oils. There are a number of different types in which you can buy to meet the needs of your hair. These are:
* Deep Nourishing Elixir
* Silky Smooth Elixir
* Sheer Vitality Elixir
* Volume Boost Elixir
* Fade Defy Elixir
* Absolute Blonde Elixir
As you can see, there is a broad range of haircare to choose from. I picked up the pink bottle which is the silky smooth elixir. This is because often my hair can look a little bit dull, and lack a healthy shine, therefore this shampoo may be able to deliver that. Packaging is standard, and similar to most other shampoo bottles, so nothing special there.
They come in 300ml bottles which are a decent size, and can last you a long while. When using this shampoo, I have noticed that I squeeze out more than I would with a normal shampoo, because I feel that you need more for it to work efficiently. The liquid that comes out is an off white to clear shade, and the shampoo does not have a fruity smell like most others. Infact, it has that horrible scent that you find with many basic branded hair care products. I was not happy with the scent, as this is something I find important when buying haircare, as it does not leave your hair smelling fantastic after washing.
Once rubbed in to the hair, this shampoo does lather excellently, and perhaps even better than many high end products I have tried before. You can massage it all in within about ten seconds before it is ready to wash out, so it is great to use if you are in a hurry, such as in the morning. It washes out easily and quickly, and you do not have to spend ages scratching your scalp to check that it is all out. Instantly after washing off the product, I noticed that my hair felt in a much better condition. It felt super clean, and very silky, so I was excited to see what results there were after the shower.
When drying my hair, I noticed that it looked in a much better condition, therefore I was very happy with this shampoo. Due to having fairly greasy hair, I was expecting it to return to its normal greasy state within a few hours. However, this shampoo enabled me to last two days without needing to wash my hair again, which is fantastic bearing in mind I usually wash it at least once a day.
You can locate this in a number of different places. I personally picked mine up from a supermarket, however places such as Boots and Lloyds Pharmacy may stock the Elixir range also. They retail at around the £2.00 mark which is pretty cheap bearing in mind how well they work.
I can really vouch for this shampoo, and although it has not worked for everyone, I felt that it has really changed my hair, leaving it in a much healthier condition. Four stars for this product, which is well deserved. One star has been knocked off due to the smell, and the fact that it is not the best shampoo on the planet, but definately one to check out! Thanks for reading.
Alberto VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir shampoo comes in a pearlescent pink bottle. The bottle is 300ml, has the VO5 logo at the top, and a flip top lid that reveals a small hole.
The smell of this shampoo is absolutely to die for, it's gorgeous.
It leaves my hair so silky soft and frizz free. (Must be those 5 vital oils and that Satin Silk.) Whatever it is, it does the trick.
The shampoo is a sort of creamy, pearly white liquid. It's not too thick but it's not too runny either. Infact, it's just right. The lid is plenty easy to open with wet fingers so there is not the problem of dropping the bottle onto the shower floor and it exploding (as I've experienced before), or having to use your teeth and getting a mouthful of shampoo! (yep! I've done that too!)
Overall I'd say this is a really good product, and I haven't got anything bad to say about it.
I love this shampoo and I buy it most of the time. It retails usually at around £2.20 a bottle, (I get it from Tesco) but often they are put on Buy One Get One Free or 2 for... (£3 or something) deals so you can quite often grab yourself a bargain.
I won this shampoo and matching conditioner as part of a hamper at Christmas, and only recently started using it.
My 8 year old son often uses our shower, too, and the shower gel and shampoo in it. Recently he has been complaining of having a really itchy head. Of course, the first thing I checked for was nits! My son was so distressed with the itchiness that he struggled to get to sleep, so we gave him Piriton to try to alleviate the itching.
However, I also realised that my head had been itchy for a couple of weeks, too, but I hadn't really thought anymore about it.
When I mentioned this to my husband, who suffers from "itchy scalp" anyway, he commented that his head had been much worse recently, too.
I can only put it down to some ingredient in the shampoo. I have now thrown away both the shampoo and conditioner.
Needless to say we are VERY unhappy with this product and certainly won't be using it again.
I didn't want to put ANY stars in my rating, but the template wouldn't let me!!!
I love shampoos that promise me things. This shampoo promises shine and to smooth my wild locks down and me I was a lamb to the slaughter when I saw it, I mean who doesn't want sleek and shiny hair to rival Cheryl Coles after-all!
Shimmery light pink plastic bottle that is 300ml in size with a flip-top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the front of the bottle I'm told that it is Alberto VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir 'With satin silk' and that it is 'Infused with 5 vital oils', Luminous shine shampoo 'For dull, frizzy heat damaged hair' and the size is stated (as I've listed already). Other information on the back of the bottle includes being told a bit about the product and instructions are given on how to use it and ingredients are listed as are contact details for Alberto-Culver Co (the manufacturer of the product). It's a nice easy to handle bottle and it's informative enough too!
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Listed On The Back Of The Bottle:
Restore your hair's natural beauty with this indulgent VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir. It contains a blend of 5 non greasy, naturally replenishing vital oils essential for healthy looking, brilliant glossy hair every day.
With extracts of satin silk, this Elixir:
Smoothes hair to tame and control frizz
Leaves hair with radiant shine
Is ideal for hair exposed to heat styling tools
Infused with 5 vital oil blend:
Nutrient rich Avocado & Jojoba oils
Strengthening Apricot & Almond oils
Shine enhancing Grape Seed oil
Well of course this you use this as you would do any other shampoo! I simply wet my hair and lather up with a blob of this and then rinse and repeat!
The shampoo is a transparent and a clearish gel of good consistency so it's not too runny or too stiff to deal with. It has a sort of sea fresh aroma to it and is really suitable for men and women to use!
You only need a small amount of this per wash and it lathers up into big rich and thick bubbles with ease and it releases it's lovely refreshing and natural aroma as it goes and rinses out very easily too.
This is a really nice, gentle shampoo. It does a great job at cleansing the hair and is very simple and straightforward to use and leaves hair not only feeling clean but the smell of the shampoo lingers on the hair for a good few hours too!
However I have found that although I'm pleased with it's cleaning capabilities it really doesn't make my frizzy hair sleeker or easier to style at all. Sure my hair feels softer and I think a damn sight more shiny but my frizz is left unmoved by this!
A very nice shampoo that doesn't make my hair greasy or anything adverse. My hair feels clean and shiny after using it but sadly frizz is left intact. I do like it though I just wish it worked a wee bit better on my mop head!
Available in all supermarkets and chemists etc at about £2.29 a bottle (if not on offer!).
I am always on the search for a bargain and therefore hardly ever buy the same shampoo more than once. I have a vast array of shampoos in my bathroom and I'm always adding to them. I do try to buy well know brands when they are on special and as my hair is wavy and quite frizzy, I look for shampoos designed to deal with this specific problem.
In the past, I have forked out some serious money to buy designer named shampoos, but I have never found any that work well enough to justify the price.
Wandering around Boots recently I found a whole range of shampoos that were on offer at £1, so snapped some up to try. Alberto VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir Shampoo was one of these.
VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir Shampoo is quite a thick shampoo, which you don't need to use too much of. It lathers very easily and as I always wash my hair while showering, I find it rinses out easily too. It has a nice fresh, light fruity smell, which isn't overpowering, just pleasant.
According to the bottle, this shampoo has extracts of satin silk and my hair did feel soft after use. I do however need to use a conditioner. I have used it a couple of times without a conditioner but was finding it increasingly difficult to get a comb through afterwards.
When possible, I usually let my hair dry naturally and it did look a little frizzy when dried. After I straightened it though, it looked far smoother and shinier than usual and looked great for the rest of the day. VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir Shampoo contains a blend of oils as shown below:
Nutrient rich Avocado & Jojoba Oils
Strengthening Apricot & Almond Oils
Shine enhancing Grape Seed Oil
I imagine it was this blend of oils that made the difference and gave my hair the smoother, shinier appearance.
I personally would not buy this product at the full price of £2.20, but would if it was on special offer at the £1 again.
It did make my hair smooth and shiny for the day but by the next morning it was all over the place again. I usually wash my hair every other day, so I had no choice but to tie it back in a pony tail. I also found that I have to use conditioner, which is not the case with many other shampoos, which condition my hair, as well as clean it.
For me, VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir Shampoo is a 4 star product.
While I tend to have my favourite shampoo's I have never really stayed loyal to them. These days I normally buy whatever shampoo is on offer (or I can find in Wilkinsons or Home Bargains).
The last time I was in Wilkinsons I picked up the VO5 shampoo and conditioner as they were 99p each. Figured that if I didn't like them I could pass them onto my mum and I would not have lost much money.
The packaging was very girly and pink (probably why I picked it up). The decoration is quite plain and not 'to in your face'. The bottles are a funky shape, just a little bit more exciting than your traditional bottles. Ingredients are all listed on the back along with directions on how to use.
Personally I do not like the smell on this shampoo on wet hair. When you sniff it from the bottle it seems perfectly ok, but when applied and massaged into wet hair it has a slight tang of disenfectant (sp). Its not the most enjoyable to say the least.
It does lather up really well and rinses out easy enough but once my hair is dried I can still smell the disenfectant tang - not nice.
I have also found that when using this shampoo I have to wash my hair every day, rather than every second day like I used too.
My conclusion - I'll finish up the bottle but I will not be buying it again!
I've never really been loyal to any particular shampoo brand before. Two factors when purchasing shampoos and conditioners that are important to me are the price, and the way that my hair feels after washing and conditioning. I tend to stick to mainstream brands that you can find in most, if not all high street supermarkets and always look for special offers. I always shampoo and condition separately and prefer doing this to using a '2-in-1' product because I feel that doing it separately leaves my hair feeling softer afterwards.
I first started using Alberto VO5 Silky Smooth Elixer Shampoo and Conditioner around 4 or 5 months ago, when I picked it up in my local Wilkinson's store at the brilliant price of just 99p for a 300 ml bottle of shampoo and conditioner. It was on special offer at the time and I think the non-discount price was £1.99. Since then I have seen it being sold at £2.12 in Wilkinson's and Asda, therefore the price has gone up quite a bit since I first bought this.
One of the things that attracted me to the product was the pink bottles! I can be a girly girl when I want to and I liked the feminine appeal of both the shampoo and conditioner bottles. The shampoo bottle is completely pink whilst the conditioner bottle is mainly a pearly, off-white colour with a pink lid. It also helped that it was on special offer, because like I said, I always try and save a little money on hair-care products.
I have been using this shampoo and conditioner combination for 4 or 5 months on and off and have made repeat purchases of it in that time. When I read some of the other reviews on DooYoo I was a bit surprised that there are quite a few users who don't think it is that great. I know it is not a high-end product, but I think it is great for how much you pay for it.
The most important thing is how it makes my hair feel after washing. Every single time I wash my hair with this product, I am always really happy with the result. My hair always feels soft and manageable straight after, and upon drying it feels nice and silky. In addition the product also smells great, it's hard to describe the smell but it definitely smells very 'clean' and the smell is usually retained in my hair at least until the next day.
The VO5 Silky Smooth Elixir claims to contain five non-greasy vital oils: avocado & jojoba oils, strengthening apricot and almond oils and shine enhancing grape seed oil. These are all claimed to work together in order to leave hair feeling 'replenished and restored, giving it new life and vitality'. In terms of this claim I will say that my hair always does feel pretty good after washing and therefore yes, it does feel replenished, clean and soft. My hair also definitely looks very shiny and with repeated use I have not seen this effect change - it still gives me the same great result every time.
The value for money for this shampoo and conditioner really depends on how much you pay for it. I usually wait until there is a special offer in-store such as BOGOF or a price reduction, and then I will stock up.
If you do have slightly dry hair which could do with added shine and softness I would strongly recommend this.
I bought this because it was on special offer but I don't think I'll be buying it again.
The good part, is that my hair looks rather good on it. My hair explodes into a huge dry frizz at the slightest opportunity, and with this shampoo it is looking all sleek and shiny, which is rather nice. It doesn't feel good though - my head itches. Eeeeek. I usually only wash my hair every other day and I think maybe this shampoo doesn't cope with that.
The really bad part, is what the shampoo looks like when it comes out of the bottle. It is opaque white and gloopy and slimy. It is just grim. You squeeze a bit out of the bottle, and when you let go, it shlucks back into the bottle again. If you don't have toddlers, skip the next bit. OK. Ready? It looks like snot. Honest. Viscous and slightly stringy and just icky.
If I manage not to think about what it reminds me of, and get it on my hair, it lathers nicely, seems to wash ok, smells quite pleasant.
The bottle itself is a pretty pink. You can't see how much you've got left, and you can't stand it upside down because the lid slopes, which I don't like.
Nope, I don't care how cheap it is, not buying that again.
