The bottles are a funky shape, just a little bit more exciting than your traditional bottles. Ingredients are all listed on the back along with directions on how to use. Personally I do not like the smell on this shampoo on wet hair. When you sniff it from the bottle it seems perfectly ok, but when applied and massaged into wet hair it has a slight tang of disenfectant (sp). Its n...more

While I tend to have my favourite shampoo's I have never really stayed loyal to them. These days I normally buy whatever shampoo is on offer (or I can find in Wilkinsons or Home Bargains). The last time I was in Wilkinsons I picked up the VO5 shampoo and conditioner as they were 99p each. Figured that if I didn't like them I could pass them onto my mum and I would not have lost much money. The packaging was very girly and pink (probably why I picked it up). Premium Review The best high-street shampoo (591 words)

I've never really been loyal to any particular shampoo brand before. Two factors when purchasing shampoos and conditioners that are important to me are the price, and the way that my hair feels after washing and conditioning. I tend to stick to mainstream brands that you can find in most, if not all high street supermarkets and always look for special offers. I always shampoo and condition separately and prefer doing this to using a '2-in-1' product because I feel that doing it separately leaves my hair feeling softer afterwards. I first started using Alberto VO5 Silky Smooth Elixer Shampoo and Conditioner around 4 or 5 months ago, when I picked it up in my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Alberto VO5 Silky Smooth Elixer Shampoo: Shame about this shampoo (596 words)

I have recently been told off by my hairdresser for washing my hair every day, and therefore washing all of the moisture out of it. She advised waiting for a day when I knew that I wouldn't be going out and not washing it, and then it would be easier to get into a routine of washing it every other day. I tried, but I just couldn't do it; my hair felt terrible by lunchtime, and it felt really dirty, so I washed it and was back to square one. To make things even worse, I am guilty of blow drying and straightening every single day: sorry hair, but you've made me do it! The next best thing I thought was to buy a nourishing shampoo. I have generally ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Another waste of money (362 words)

I bought this shampoo because it was on a Boy one get one free offer in Morrisons, meaning I could get a shampoo and a conditioner for just £2.12, where it's normally £2.12 for one 300ml bottle. It comes in a very girly pink plastic bottle, which is opaque so you can't see how much you have left, which is quite annoying. The bottle has a flip up lid which does fasten nice and tightly, so it shouldn't pose any problems if you were to take it travelling with you. The problem I have with the bottle is that the hole that you get the shampoo out of is off to one side of the top, rather than in the centre, which makes it very awkward to get the shampoo out without ...  Read the complete review

I cannot say that I am particularly loyal to any one shampoo. In fact, I tend to be led by offers instead, which is why I lifted this Alberto VO5 elixir shampoo as a change and put in my trolley, paying a grand total of £1 for it at the time in Tesco. This 300ml bottle usually retails at a little over £2. Even though I do chop and change shampoos like goodo, I do try to buy products that are aimed at reducing frizzy, fly away hair making it smooth and silky instead. Thus, I opted for the pink coloured 'Silky Smooth Elixir' VO5 shampoo, created for 'luminous shine for dul, frizzy, heat damaged hair'. Like most women, I own a pair of ...  Read the complete review
