I'm always one for a bargain, especially when it also means I can try something new in the process. When I saw the V05 new range of elixir shampoo and conditioners on the shelves in my local Morrison's for the bargain price for £1, they almost jumped off the shelves and into my basket.
The packaging of the new elixir range is the same style as the standard V05 range of products. They all have the usual supple bottles to be able to get the shampoo from them. The lid is a strong flip style which holds in place when closed well. Many a time I have taken the bottle in a bag and found the contents to stay intact despite being tipped upside down in transit.
The only difference to the new elixir range is that the bottles have a pearlised colour to them to promote their new range.
My bottle is designed for shine to dull and frizzy hair. I never really take great care when it comes to buying a product because of the claims it makes, and on this occasion I certainly didn't. A shampoo will clean my hair and any extra bonuses I get from it are great.

I don't like to wash my hair more than once every two day; otherwise I find it gets greasy too often when I wash it more frequently.
The shampoo can be used in the normal way of wetting hair and lathering in. I only ever use a shampoo once before conditioning unless my hair really feels as though it needs an extra lather of shampoo.
I have noticed when using this that it's of a thick consistency which seems to make the bottle empty a bit quicker than I would ideally like.
You don't need a lot to get a good lather on even long hair, but it's easy to get a lot out of the bottle despite its thickness without trying.

It's the after effect that really does sell this shampoo. I didn't take a lot of notice about how I looked but I knew it felt nice and soft. There was nothing amazing about it but my hair was soft and it was good enough for me.
I couldn't smell anything from the shampoo after it had been sitting on my hair for a length of time and it doesn't even really smell of anything when you're using it, apart from a subtle aroma of a slightly sweet smell.
What did it for me was when a colleague at work commented on how long my hair was one day. I was blasé about it and she mentioned how shiny it was and how I should be in the Pantene advert flicking my hair about. This of course made us both laugh, but then I realised on closer inspection my hair is shinier when I use this, and now I know this it makes me feel great about using the product.

Whatever amount of money I spend, if a product makes me feel good then I will always re buy it at a later date. V05 elixir has found its way into my heart for the way it makes me feel. If it were to smell better and last longer than it would be even more valuable to me, but it's enough for now.
