Advantages: leaves hair feeling silky smooth

Disadvantages: doesn't really help frizz

I cannot say that I am particularly loyal to any one shampoo. In fact, I tend to be led by offers instead, which is why I lifted this Alberto VO5 elixir shampoo as a change and put in my trolley, paying a grand total of £1 for it at the time in Tesco. This 300ml bottle usually retails at a little over £2.

Even though I do chop and change shampoos like goodo, I do try to buy products that are aimed at reducing frizzy, fly away hair making it smooth and silky instead. Thus, I opted for the pink coloured 'Silky Smooth Elixir' VO5 shampoo, created for 'luminous shine for dul, frizzy, heat damaged hair'.

Like most women, I own a pair of straighteners that are used every day, and despite my efforts using heat protection sprays, my hair is being continually damaged.

This VO5 shampoo also claims to be 'infused with 5 vital oils' - namely: avocado, jojoba, apricot, almond and grape seed. The first two are full of nutrients foryour hair, the second two are for strengthening, and the last oil mentioned is for shine.

On the reverse of the shampoo, there is more information about how VO5 shampoo can help smooth and tame your hair, controlling fizz, leave your hair with a radiant shine, and is an ideal shampoo for those using heat styling tools regularly.

The shampoo itself is easy to apply and lathers up very well. It washes out easily and I can brush through my wet hair without any fuss after using this shampoo, and not feel it tangled or sticky.

I have been using this shampoo for aboht a month now and I have to say that I am quite pleased with the results. I do not use this shampoo every day, and instead have a variety of shampoos which I alternate. However, I can state that after drying my hair using this shampoo, my hair feels very smooth and silky, has plenty of shine and feels in good condition.

The only downside is that I don't think it has eased the slight frizz/fly awayness of my hair, however despite this minor criticism, for the most part I think that this VO5 shampoo is a good purchase, particularly when it is on offer.

At full price I;m not sure that I would buy it over some other shampoo products on the shelves, however, when on offer in future, I will not hesitate to buy more.

So to sum up: I feel that his shampoo does do its job in relation to making hair feel silky, smooth and shiny, but doesn't help with the frizz/fly awayness as much as I would have liked. I would buy again, but only when on offer.

Summary: Quite a good shampoo, but there are better on the market when full price

I've got flyaway hair too and it drives me mad! I've yet to find a shampoo and conditioner that makes a noticeable difference to it.
