Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Herbal Shampoo
by thriftygiftyisme
=Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Herbal Shampoo=
This is one of the term time shampoo, I know that sounds an odd expression, but "nits" don't like tea tree, so prevention is better than cure.
=Price and Availability=
I got these for £1 each from Poundworld, the shampoo and conditioner are available ... from many retailers, from Boots, Supermarkets through to £1 shops.
=The Bottle=
The bottle I am currently using is a large 400ml bottle, the bottle is clear with a screw on lid, this lid has a flip tip with the control hole to squeeze the shampoo from.
On the front of the bottle the label is written in white and has a black back ground, making the writing stand out and easy to read the information. It explains the shampoo contains tea tree and mint extracts also Pro-Vitamin B5, which is known for strengthen the hair
=The Shampoo=
The shampoo is a bright green colour, and has a smell of both tea tree and mint.
=To Use=
The shampoo dispenses easily from the lid, and you only need a small amount to get a good lather on your hair, when your applying you can smell the mint and the tea tree. It rinses out well and does not leave a residue.
=Afterwards=
Within about 20 minutes of washing your hair, there is no smell of tea tree or mint left, to the person, but for nits they seem not to like this flavour of shampoo.
=My Daughter=
My daughter is at primary school and once you have got her cleaned up and rid of the nits, within a couple of days the "itch" starts again. If every parent treated their child. there wouldn't be a problem, but touch wood, since we use this shampoo and conditioner, we have been "visitor free".
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend this shampoo, its great value for money, makes our hair look smooth, it does not dry out our hair, nor leave it greasy. Read the complete review |

Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle Herbal Conditioner
by Elaineee
I use Alberto's range of shampoo's and conditioner's. They are widely available and cost around a pound for 400ml. The last twin shampoo and conditioner I bought was Tea Tree Tingle from Tesco at a cost of £1.80 for both.
One of the products selling points is that it contains the same ingredients that you find in more ... expensive brands- pro vitamin B5 for example which claims to strengthen your hair so seems cheap at that price.
The plastic bottle is tall and slim, it has a black flip top lid with pour control hole. It's see through so you can see the creamy light green contents- which is handy. The label has a shot of black and leaves are pictured. We're informed that it's a Herbal conditioner with tea tree and mint extracts that will 'awaken our senses'. Although the conditioner is 'Tea Tree Tingle' the over riding scent for me is mint, it's pleasant enough.
The conditioner itself has a nice creamy consistency almost like yogurt which is quite thin making it easy to spread through the hair.
After washing my hair I apply a good squirt, it's easy to blob too much everywhere because it's quite thin. When I put it on my head doesn't tingle. Whilst rinsing my hair feels softish and clean- it doesn't seem to leave a residue. Once dried my hair does looks shiny. My daughters hair is very dry from bleaching the bottom of it, this conditioner will smooth the frazzled bits down but not by much and she has to apply loads to the ends and leave it for ages- it's just cosmetic as it doesn't 'fix' the splits.
The smell doesn't seem to linger for long even when combined with it's matching shampoo. It doesn't leave my hair more manageable (but to be fair it's pretty manageable anyway). I find my hair to feel not greasy but sort of lank looking. The bit of body that the shampoo gives me, is taken away with the conditioner. The conditioner makes me need to wash my hair sooner than if I have just used shampoo, but all conditioners seem to do that. The other down side I found with using it, was my head felt itchy which is unusual for me.
I don't like this particular conditioner, I felt like rewashing my hair after I'd used it. Even so it smells nice, has a nice consistency, leaves my hair shiny and washes out well enough so 3 stars from me. Read the complete review |
