Advantages: Not a bad shampoo!
Disadvantages: Dries hair out a little
Usually my Mother only buys our household branded shampoos so I was a little taken aback when I spotted this in my bathroom! At 89p a bottle she really thought this was worth a go and bought a conditioner at the same time to match up with it for us all to use!
The Packaging:
250ml brown coloured cylinder plastic bottle with flip top lid to the top of it. On the front in white, black and green writing I'm told it is Professional Ginani Calvaro Shampoo For Coloured Treated Hair 'Pro-Vitamin B5 & Vitamin E, Enriched With Colour Guard & UV Protector'.Other information on the back of the bottle includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed, the size is stated and contact details for Aldi are listed. It's nice enough bottle and it's informative enough too.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
Giani calvaro, the new professional hairdressers quality shampoo, is designed to bring power, silky shine and vitality back to your hair.
Specially For: Coloured or streaked hair, which has lost colour and shine through sun, hard water, or other residues.
Our Answer: A rich conditioning complex with Pro-Vitamin B5 & Vitamin E and a mild cleansing system protect the natural hair balance. The hair and especially the sensitive scalp are less irritated through the use of hops. With colour guard and UV protector, for better shine.
Using It:
Well all you do of course is wet the hair and apply it and rinse and repeat if desired!
The shampoo is a transparent white colour and rather thin but not too runny or anything like that and it's glossy to look at with a sort of old fashioned but light floral fragrance to it (the smell once hair is dried vanishes anyway).
I add about the size of a 10p piece into my shoulder length hair and it lathers up richly into big, rich thick bubbles almost on contact. It feels soapy but soft enough and rinses out with ease and when I'm sure it's completely removed I repeat and rinse yet again as always.
I have to after this use a conditioner as my hair feels slightly knotty and dry after using this on it's own. However it does cleanse the hair well enough, and when I've combed my hair through I can't feel any residue left in my hair at all. Hair doesn't appear shiny but of course hair is still wet!
Verdict:
I think this is a very mild and gentle shampoo and that it's ok to use as an every day sort of shampoo however it is mild so if you have very dirty/greasy hair maybe this isn't for you and you really must use a conditioner after using this product or hair can feel a a bit rough.
Not bad but not brilliant either, it simply does a job!
Only available in Aldi stores.
Summary: Not brill but not terrible either!
