“ Brand: Aldi / Type: Hair Shampoo / What it does: Protects / Suitable for: dry hair „
I'm really heavy handed on shampoo cos of my love of swimming, jumping in and out of spas and saunas and working up a sweat in a gym almost everyday, I'm fussy when it comes to general hygiene.
Saying that although I wash my hair everyday to be clean I do find it can suffer badly cos on top of it being washed and stripped of natural oils all the time I do blow dry and straighten my hair everyday....and dye it etc lol.
I find my hair to be difficult to tame really. It's wavy, bushy and rather frizzy with grease prone roots and dry split ends. Don't get me wrong I don't own an Amy Winehouse mess....yet but if I didn't style it, it would rival that for sure!
So I need a good shampoo really as it's the foundation to having clean, glossy hair in my opinion and it's an integral part of my styling (I like stuff that makes promises!). The other day though I went for a shower and spotted this out (Mum had just bought it) and when I read up on all the information on this bottle I spotted it was from Aldi. It doesn't say Aldi on it till you look at the contact details listed on the back of the bottle in small writing but I knew it was cheap as it was a make I'd never heard of before!
300ml silver plastic bottle with a flip top lid opening to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the front there is a clear label and on that I'm told it is Lacura Pro-Vive 'Nourishes & protects with pro-care complex' Protect & Care Shampoo 'For dry, damaged or coloured hair'. On the back label I'm told a bit about the product and directions for use are given, ingredients are listed, size is stated (as I've told you already and this is the only size available to buy this in by the way) and contact details for Aldi are given. It's actually a nice enough bottle and I like the way it has a curve to it's body slightly and tapers thinner to the top of it for ease of handling.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
For daily or frequent use. For an even more natural and beautiful look.
This formulation gently cleanses from root to tip making it easier to comb and leaving it shiny and attractive whilst also helping to give the hair strength.
Me Using It:
Well I wet and wash my hair with this and then always repeat the process before following through with a conditioner.
The liquid is white, glossy and transparent, not too thin but not thick either and has a really nice fruity smell to it. I can't put my finger on what the fruity smell is from but I feel there is a hint of a pear fragrance somewhere in it. Whatever the fragrance it's very pleasant, not too overpowering and in my opinion suitable for both sex's to use.
A little of this goes a long way and like I say I wet my hair well first then spread a dollop of this through my hair, about the size of a 10p piece or a bit smaller. It lathers up into rich thick white bubbles quickly, feels hydrating even as you use it and rinses out with ease and like I said earlier I repeat the process. Now I do always use a conditioner after a shampoo but I know this much about this product....
It's mild and gentle and incredibly cleansing and even though I use a conditioner after this I can still usually faintly smell this in the background. I like the way my hair and scalp feel clean and my hair feels smooth after using it and no residue appears to be left in my hair after giving it a rinse thus it's not weighed down, greasy or dry or anything!
My hair since using this shampoo has been glossier and more perky than usual. My hair has felt fresher for longer too and in general I think this is a mild and gentle shampoo that does protect hair, nourish it and strengthen it but in a mild way!
Not only am I keen on this shampoo my Mother went out of her way to ask me what I thought of it and it turns out she rates it really highly too and my Mum suffers very dry hair due to having her hair dyed dark brown and having blonde streaks put in fairly often!
At about 89p a bottle this is a very economical buy and we're impressed with it. The only opinion I haven't got to share with you is my Step-dads and that's only cos he's bald...and that's not due to him using this shampoo by the way lol.Another great product from Aldi and the matching conditioner is available to buy though we haven't tried that yet!
Only available in Aldi stores.
