      Shiny, Dandruff-free hair!

All About Shine, Anti-Dandruff shampoo is one of the shampoos available in the All About Shine Range. I have only ever seen this brand in Tesco, however I cannot say for certain if the product is exclusive to Tesco as there doesn't appear to be a Tesco logo on my bottle of the shampoo.

      Why?
A few months ago, for some reason which is still completely unknown to me, I started to suffer with dandruff. In the past I have never really had too much of a problem with it, maybe just the occasional outburst but it always seemed to clear up pretty fast. But this outbreak was different, it was so sudden and so bad that I felt embarrassed about it. I would go places and when I took my coat off I would see and flaky white coating in the hood of my coat, I became slightly paranoid about wearing dark tops and every time I looked in the mirror I would see flaky bits along my parting and this was all within the space of a few days. I knew I needed to do something so I popped to our local Tesco in search of some trusty Head and Shoulders. When I got there though my attention was drawn to a white bottle with a simple label and the wording "All About Shine, Anti-Dandruff Shampoo", priced at less than half the price of Head and Shoulders I picked up a bottle, flipped open the lid and took a sniff. It smelt just like the classic Head and Shoulders and from the little bit of shampoo which was on the lid I could see it was the same colour too, so I decided to give this one a try instead.

      Banish The Flakes!
Upon arriving home in the evening I immediately took a shower and washed my hair in what I was hoping was the solution to my problem. Flicking the flip top lid open and pouring the liquid onto my hand I could see that this shampoo really did look and smell like Head and Shoulders and it was as if it had just been put in a different bottle. Even the texture was the same. For those who haven't used Head and Shoulders or indeed this All About Shine, Anti-Dandruff, the shampoo is a reasonably thick, nice pale blue substance which smells nice and fresh, not perfumed, just a pure and simple "clean" smell.

My hair is quite thick and is usually somewhere between chin and shoulder length. To wash my hair I use a decent amount of the shampoo, it is hard to say how much exactly as it varies each time, but generally I would say the liquid sits nicely in the little dip in the palm of my hand. I then apply this to my wet hair and lather it up really well while paying attention to massaging my scalp to make sure the shampoo comes into contact with the dandruff affected areas. I found that this shampoo lathers up nice and easy, almost instantly, providing your hair is nice and wet. I also noticed that when the occasional drop of water mixed with shampoo ran down my face it didn't hurt my eyes, it did feel a little uncomfortable, but there was certainly no stinging sensation which I have experienced with other shampoos in the past. On the occasion where I had a cold and could only breathe through my mouth I was unlucky enough to discover that the shampoo tastes disgusting, so I don't recommend using it if, for some reason, you can't close your mouth!

Rinsing the shampoo off is as simple as it sounds, just make sure you have got it all out as dried shampoo can also cause itchy and flaky scalps, who'd have thought it was so hard to have nice hair eh?!

Once my hair is washed and I'm finished in the shower I usually wrap my hair up in a towel while I get ready and then depending on how much time I have I will either leave it to dry on its own or I will blast it with the hair dryer, in recent months the second option has become much more common as I always seem to be rushing around.

      Flake Free?
After the first use of this All About Shine, Anti-Dandruff Shampoo I could definitely see a big improvement in my dandruff status. I would love to be able to say it was completely gone, but this was not the case, there was however such an improvement that I felt much more confident straight away. I was still wary about dark tops, but as time progressed and I continued my use of this shampoo my dandruff situation also moved forward and after around a week of using this shampoo approximately every other day my dandruff was almost non existent and I was feeling happy and much more confident. I continued to use the shampoo until the bottle had finished and then I decided to return to my usual Timotei shampoo as I like the scent better and also because my hairdresser told me I should vary my shampoo products as the same one continually isn't always a good idea. I did buy another bottle of the All About Shine, Anti-Dandruff Shampoo though as a reserve for a dandruff emergency, thankfully, this emergency has not occurred, but I do try to use the shampoo once a week simply to keep on top of any lurking dandruff and also to add that variance which my hairdresser suggested but never expanded too much on the reason why!

When I use this shampoo my hair always feels nice and silky afterwards, never dry or straw like, which is great as I dye my hair a lot so it is important to me that my shampoo doesn't cause further damage! The shampoo doesn't seem to strip the colour from my hair either which is also good as I have had this happen in the past. At the moment my hair is a quite bright shade of red so I was a little worried the shampoo may affect the colour but as of yet there is no change.

      Price
I bought my bottle of shampoo from Tesco here in Krakow, I paid 4.99zl for a 300ml bottle, which is around £1 give or take a few pence. I have searched online to see if the shampoo is available in the UK and at the moment it seems to be showing as unavailable for this particular one but you can purchase a 300ml, All About Shine, Pro-Vitamin B5 Normal Shampoo for 75p. It may just be that the Anti-Dandruff one is out of stock and therefore not showing in my search.

      Would I Recommend?
Yes, if you can find it then I would recommend All About Shine, Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. It is a great, cheaper alternative to Head and Shoulders, it works well. I never expect "instant" results from a product so I am happy with how fast this worked against my dandruff. I have no complaints about this shampoo and I will be purchasing it again when my current bottle runs out. 5 out of 5 stars from me.

      Thanks for reading :)
