Advantages: works a treat

Disadvantages: costly, green in colour, makes hair greasy quick

Now what we havent use is untrue, Vitamins, Gold Injections, Sunbeds, Every cream you can think of.. one of the best ones is SSC Salcap but living in a realistic world you would not have to venture out if you used this as its just oil and coal tar, very strong and you have to leave it on for a few days for it to work.

So coming back to the real world, we had to find something that he could go out and use and the main thing was it had to stop the flaking of his scalp.

Alphosyl is licensed by Glaxo and is made by a company in Preston.

The Packaging
-------------
The one I am going to talk to you about is the 250ml size. Its in a white squarish bottle with a white flip top lid. The front of it has a see thro label and the writing is in navy blue telling you its Alphosyl 2 in 1 shampoo with 55 coal tar. Its also tells you its a medicated cleanser and that its smells nice. On the back are the ingriendients and what the product is for which I have already covered. also the directions for use and some precautions are listed.

The Product
-----------
What is 2 in 1? Basically its a shampoo and conditioner with ingriendients that are soft and gentle on irritated skin. Now its use is not just for Psorasis, you can use it on Dandruff and itchy scalps and seborrhoeic dermatitis.

When you open the flip top lid, you can smell the coal tar straight away. Personally i love the smell of this as it smells really clean and thats before you have started to use it. The liquid I would say is just a bit thicker than normal shampoo and the colour of it is dark green. Now this sounds disgusting but lets give it a fair run and see if it works.

First of all wet your hair and put a small amount of this shampoo about a 50p worth on your scalp and massage it into your head, now remember this is an active shampoo for scalp conditions so give it time to work, its not a quick shampoo and go type of product. The shampoo lathers up
very well and the smell is lovely. After completing this give your a rinse thoroughlly and repeat again.

If this shampoo does not work after two or three days then its time to make a visit to your doctors as this product should work on most scalp problems. Also this is true if you come out in a rash due to the product.

Avoid contact with eyes, as with anything wash your eyes out with cold water if this happens.

The results
------------
It certainly does work even tho its horrible looking shampoo. It has cut down my husbands psorasis when he uses it over time about 90% and the flakes have almost disapeared. It leaves his hair nice and shiney and fluffy. Now my husband uses this product every day and sometimes if he misses a day or two his hair does become greasy quite quick so you have to keep the regime up until it has gone or if your like my husband whom it will never totally disappear, do it regularly.

The price is around £6 for the 250ml bottle and around £3 for the 125ml bottle. however we get ours on prescription as we use a lot of this each month.

Try it if you have scalp problems it does work.
