**** Introduction ****
I am always on the look out for branded products at knock down prices, so while out shopping this weekend I found this matrix amplify shampoo on offer at TK Maxx, being priced up at only £1.50 I had to give it a try.
**** The Product ****
Matrix amplify is a volumising product and comes in four different steps, step one being the shampoos, step two conditioning agents, step three styling products and lastly step four finishing products.
The amplify shampoo is a step one product that washes and cleanses the hair giving it added volume and height to fine limp hair.
This is applied to wet hair and lathered up before rinsing out, so it has the same application method of any other shampoo on the market.
It comes in a 250ml aqua green bottle with a flip top cap, that makes it very easy to transport and even get the product out very easily.
The shampoo itself is a dark aqua colour that is transparent and it smells very fruity similar to blueberries, so actually using it is very pleasant indeed.
This usually sells for roughly £6.50 so I have really got myself a bargain as this only cost me £1.50.
**** My Views ****
I am very impressed with the results I can achieve with this shampoo, as I have long hair that is layered and reasonably fine, I find that I have to wash it everyday as it can go very limp and flat looking, which is something I can stand.
Anyway after using this and styling my hair as usual I find that my hair is very bouncy with lots of volume, I now have some height to my hair which lasts a few days so I no longer need to wash it everyday.
I feel that this would be a very good product for anyone who likes straight hair, but also likes a bit of bounce as this will help you achieve the look you are aiming for.
This is highly recommended by me.
I have suffered from thin hair all my life, I hated the fact that all of my friends had a nice head full of thick hair and then there was mine all limp with a balding appearance.
I tried various herbal remedies to try to get myself thicker hair but nothing worked, I didn't expect miracles but I would have been happy with hair the appeared thicker even it was still very fine.
Then in January 2004 I found my cure, while I was on holiday in America I went to a salon to get my hair done and to my surprise my hair looked fantastic, yes it was still fine but it still looked like I had a lot of it. I asked the stylist what she had used she looked dumb founded but informed me the product used was Matrix Amplify volumising shampoo.
I purchased a bottle there and then and when I returned to the UK I promptly found a supplier for my miracle hair shampoo and I have never looked back.
This volumising shampoo is designed to leave hair looking fuller and thicker, is a weightless shampoo that gradually gives your hair extra volume every time you use it. This shampoo contains a formula that is deposited around each hair strand, giving it the thicker fuller appearance.
You can use the product as much as you want, just treat it like any other shampoo you have used. The only difference being that matrix recommend you apply it to wet hair, lather it up and leave it for at least one minute before rinsing it out. I am not sure why you have to leave it maybe it has something to do with the formula used to get your hair looking fuller.
This shampoo comes in a 250ml or 500ml minty green bottle with a flip top cap, the shampoo is transparent with a greenish blue tinge to it. The shampoo itself has a light but fresh smell to it and it lathers really well so you don't need to use excessive amounts to get your hair nice and clean.
WHERE TO BUY IT
You can only buy Matrix product from professional hairdressing salon which are permitted to sell the products. To see where your nearest stockist it log on to www.matrix.com and this will give you all the information about products and stockists in your area. If not you will have to get on a plane and get one from the USA, but this will be a very expensive bottle of shampoo.
The price of these does vary from each salon but you can expect to pay 5.95 for a 250ml bottle and 8.95 for a 500ml bottle with a hairdressing salon. I have also seen these sell on ebay and they sell slightly cheaper than hair salons so you may want to give that a try.
OTHER AMPLIFY PRODUCTS
Matrix also offer many other Amplify products that are also designed to give your hair that added volume.
Amplify XL Shampoo, this is the same as the amplify shampoo but it is specially formulated for colour treated hair, this will cost you the same price as the normal amplify range.
Amplify Foam Volumiser, is a light hair moose that also creates added volume and can be purchased from 8.50 for a 200ml can.
Amplify Conditioner, is recommended to be used alongside the shampoo to ensure you get the fuller look, but I have found the shampoo works alone and you don't need to use this it you don't want to. This will cost you 6.45 for the 250ml bottle.
Amplify Leave in Conditioner is a leave in conditioner that is designed to repair damaged or frizzy hair, leaving it silky smooth with a great shine. This product costs roughly 8.50, which is expensive but it a great product for limp lifeless hair.
The only way I would never use Amplify is if matrix ever discontinue it, this has truly exceeded my expectations as it makes my hair even fuller and give me the thicker appearance I have always wanted.
I can just wash it and leave it to dry or for the extra added lift I blowdry my hair using a large round brush, this then gives me the thick hair I have always dreamed of. If having thick hair wasn't enough this has also improved my hairs condition, is appears noticeably healthy with a great shine and no frizz.
I used straightening irons on a regular basis and my hair stays really healthy so I feel that this also protects from the repeated heat abuse inflicted on my hair.
You may be thinking that this is very expensive for a shampoo, I would have said so at one point but this really does work and it lasts twice as long as my old shampoos so technically it is only a few pounds dearer that my normal two bottles of shampoo.
If you suffer for dull, limp and lifeless hair you must try this you will never go back and I promise you won't be disappointed.
nice rpoduct- infact the whole range is excellent- I have also used the purple range (colour expertise) and it also works just as well, the effects are just as good.
Its a great consistancy, thick enough to feel like quality, not so thick its ahrd to get out of the bottle.
The scent is really nice -do not buy this from ebay, it will not smell the same, the ones on ebay are fake! the ones from a salon are the real thing and really smell good and leave your hair smelling good.
After using this my hair felt silky smooth, light and clean, I do have to say though that it works best if you use the conditioner as well, I tried it without and used a different conditioner and it wasnt the same.
This product is a good choice as it gives brilliant results and is not as expensive as many other brands which are slon used such as kerastess and Tigi, yet is made by the Loreal house which also makes redkin, biolage and kerastess
Matrix is the no1 hair retailer in american salons, it has slowly filtered through to the uk and i must say about time.
As this is an american brand it is very advanced compared to the uk made brands. they now supply everything you can think of shampoo, conditioner, gels, wax, sprays, conditioning tratments, heat protector you name it they do it.
My personal favorite is the Matrix amplify volumising system range, the shampoo is a must in my house hold.
It is a volumising shampoo, that boosts dull lifeless hair. it be honest i don't tend to have lifeless hair but this shampoo is great for hair that is dull and dry, and transforms my hair into a lovely mane of shine that looks really healthy and cared for.
if am always colouring my hair so i need something that, will help and this does the trick, i colour my hair every six weeks with a bleach tint, so it get really dry, but since i have started to use this product i only colour every 12 weeks now, at six weeks my hair colour would always look tarnished and dull, hence the regular colouring. This shampoo help eliminate them yellow tone that you can get with a blonde colour, so in the long run buying this has saved my colouring at least 4 times a year, so i have saved money too.
this can be purchased from any professional hair salon that, stocks the matrix leading brand, you can log on there there web site to get a list of your nearest stockest www.matrix.com
these shampoos come in a 250ml bottle and the RRP is 6.50 and there is also a larger bottle 500ml with will set you back 9.45. some salons will as supply a 1000ml salon sized bottle and this price will depend on the salon, as these are really for salon use only.
so as you can see this will not break the bank when you purchase, and it really is worth every penny. i just look at it as cheap because i used to spend 14.00 on a bottle of nu.u at the salon.
You only need a small amount to get a really thick lather of bubbles, and the smell is fantastic.
A matrix amplify conditioner can also be brought, 250ml 7.95 and 500ml 11.95. to work along side this shampoo.
