      Very helpful

I won't be buying this again

Prior to my recent holiday abroad I was shopping in Asda for a few last minute bits and bobs and decided to pick up another deep conditioning treatment sachet for my hair, having previously purchased a couple a few months back to put away for my hols. As I was going to be on holiday for two weeks I thought maybe I should buy another sachet and take three with me, then use one every few days throughout my holiday to try and prevent my hair from becoming too dry and losing its shine in the heat.
Although I use my regular conditioner each time I wash my hair, I do like to use a deep conditioning treatment every now and then, however, when on holiday abroad I find I need to use them more often due to the heat drying out my hair.

I had previously purchased a couple of John Frieda Brilliant Brunette conditioning treatment sachets and was looking to buy another one or perhaps a Frizz-Ease sachet, when my eyes fell upon these Andrew Barton Gloss Boss Shine Attack Treatment sachets priced at £1 per sachet.
It was the packaging which caught my eye, so well done to the marketing department for making this range stand out on the shelves with its sleek black packaging and bright yellow font. I also liked the 'Gloss Boss' name and the fact that this was a shine attack treatment, which I thought may be just what I was looking for.
Although I had never previously tried an Andrew Barton product, I decided that I would really like to try this product and so I purchased a sachet to take on holiday.

Andrew Barton describe their Gloss Boss collection as the 'holy grail of shine' as their collection of products cleanse, care and style hair into perfect glossy lustre. Whether blonde or brunette, natural or coloured, their collection is advertised as being inspired by timeless fashion silhouettes and gives hair dazzling shine.
Apart from these sachets of shine attack treatment I noticed shampoo, conditioner and serum in this Gloss Boss range on sale too.

The Andrew Barton Gloss Boss collection is said to be blended with the finest of ingredients and includes shine boosting Avocado and Grape Seed oils. Grape Seed is renowned for its regenerating and restructuring qualities leaving the hair with a rich shiny lustre as it repairs the hair cuticle. Avocado Oil is a great shine enhancers and promotes a shiny finish to the hair.

This particular Shine Attack Treatment is described as a multi-tasking hair Goddess! Containing the ingredients mentioned above it promised to add a gorgeous reflective shine to my hair and I was looking forward to using it whilst on holiday.

Three or four days into my holiday I decided this Gloss Boss Shine Attack sachet was going to be the first treatment I would use on my hair whilst away. I need to wash my hair each day when on holiday and I noticed when washing and styling my hair it was beginning to feel the effects of the heat, particularly on the ends.
I have long hair and keep it tied up during the day when on holiday and only wear it down on an evening, but of course this doesn't prevent it from becoming dry and I noticed after 3 days, despite using my regular shampoo and conditioner each day, it was losing a little shine and felt slightly dry at the ends.

I washed my hair as directed and then applied the contents of this 20ml sachet to my hair, paying particular attention to the ends.
The first thing I noticed was that it has a fairly thick consistency as you may expect. Although it was easy enough to apply to my hair, it didn't perhaps feel as luxurious as I expected. Usually when I use a product such as this I find my fingers glide easily through my hair upon application, yet I didn't exactly have that experience here and I felt somewhat disappointed and began to wonder if this product was going to deliver all it promised.
I left it on my hair for a while as directed before rinsing it off and found it was easy enough to rinse the product from my hair, although once again I felt that my hair did not exactly feel luxurious or silky smooth.

My hair was tangle-free as I combed it and then I began drying my hair as usual, but any hopes I had of my hair having a shine attack were dwindling by the second. After drying my hair, I actually thought it actually looked better when just using my normal conditioner. Indeed my hair did not seem to benefit at all from using this treatment and so I was left disappointed. I also felt the fragrance wasn't anything special. On the plus side, it didn't leave any residue behind on my hair and was easy enough to use, but I certainly didn't have a Goddess experience using this!

I used the other conditioning treatments I had packed during my holiday and these provided me with far better results than Gloss Boss and so I can say I won't be buying this again. Yes it conditioned my hair, but there was no 'shine attack' or reflective shine as promised and I actually preferred my regular conditioner which gave me better results.
Using Gloss Boss Shine Attack treatment didn't provide any added luxury for my hair, nor did it enhance the shine or feel silky soft as I have came to expect when using this type of product. I use these sachets to give my hair a treat, but I am sorry to have to say using this product was no treat for me.
