Advantages: Leaves your hair clean, manageable and without any nasty aftereffects

Disadvantages: bit costly

That?s stuff is just great. Pure, plain and simple. For years I used Pantene shampoo and conditioner all in one and didn?t really care what I used. I?m a man, so that?s hardly surprising. Though I have long, unruly blonde hair that is very prone to tangles I spent years (foolishly) struggling with tangles, I remember one time at university nearly in tears for the pain of scraping a comb through the knots of hair. If someone had put a pair of scissors in my hand then I would have lopped the lot off myself, heedless of the consequences. It was that bad. Then, once, when suddenly out of 2in1 shampoo and conditioner (oh, horror!) I had to use another, belonging ? clearly ? not to me. T?was Andrew Collinge?s moisturising shampoo: and it was fantastic stuff! Years before I had tried Fructis cos I was a student and poor and bought whatever was on offer ? idiot me! The stuff made my hair feel brittle and touching it literally made my flesh creep, it was a truly disturbing and disgusting situation, so I know a bad shampoo when I see one.

Andrew Collinge?s shampoo though is in another league. Afterwards I can see the shine in my hair (which wasn?t there for years so I just assumed that it literally wasn?t there in the first place). It?s the kind of product that makes you want to be tactile and touch your own hair all the time (and that of those who you it). It cleanses beautifully and leaves it manageable, even in someone with as rebellious locks as mine. The shampoo doesn?t feel greasy, oily or thick, nor does it leave your hair this way. My hair is in need of body and it supplies it, though without leaving me with any mad-1980?s-Texas-big-hair-effect. Ok, so it?s not cheap at £4 a bottle, but you don?t actually need to use all that much of it, even if you?ve got a couple of feet of hair like me. A little goes a long way and so it works out well in terms of price. Also it is not some ridiculously exclusive shampoo that you can only buy at some o
bscure hairdressers in the centre of London where you have to pay just to get through the door. This can be bought at your average supermarket, Boots, Superdrug. Years ago it was hard to find but now it seems to have spread like a benign virus. Good thing too. Also, and this is a great plus, every month or so there seems to be an offer on this shampoo in the shops so you can get two for one, I have no idea why this is but it seems to be the case. It?s hardly the best reason to buy it but it?s certainly an added bonus.

Just give it a go if you?ve using Pantene, or some other such generic shampoo, because it really does make your hair feel cleaner, gives it greater body (or whichever effect you want it to have -depending of course on the variety you buy) and is certainly more easily manageable. Fantastic stuff.

Pantene is nasty cack! I'm an Aveda girl myself. It's all right-on and ethical. Well... ish!
