Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None
Occasionally I buy stuff for the sake of it I have to admit lol. I go out with nothing in mind to purchase and instead of keeping my money safely in my purse I will just splash out on things just for the sake of it and when I purchased the Angel Fish 'Blow fish' Heat Protecting & Smoothing Cream I picked this up at the same time (£5.49 in Boots).
I'm not a fan of hair serums as a rule and quite frankly when I went to open it and use it I did think to myself why did I? and have I got a shop-o-holic tendency going on or what?! I've never had particularly wonderful results with hair serums due to over using too much product etc. However I do buy it in the belief that it should be suitable for my hair type!
I have dyed jet black, just below shoulder length wavy hair which occasionally suffers with greasy roots, a dry and fluffy mid section and straggly ends that are prone to feeling very bristly. I use a lot of heated appliances on my hair including ghd's (up to twice a day if need be!) and I love hair products such as hot oil and hair mask treatments and stuff like that. I really do spend alot of money to try get my hair looking nice and healthy after the way I mistreat it so badly!
The Packaging....
Bright pink plastic bottle with a push button dispenser situated at the top you simply push to get the stuff out of and over that a small clear plastic safety lid you pull on and off to use it.
On the front in white, black and pink writing I'm told It's Angel Fish, Sleek Fish Smoothing Serum: Anti-Frizz High Gloss Finish, Rejuvenates Split Ends, UV Defensive Filters. There is a picture of silver wings drawn on and a sort of diagrams on the front showing hair without using the product and what happens when you do use it. On the back in small white writing I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use, told it's not tested on animals and reminds us to recycle the packaging, contact details for Fish UK are given, ingredients are listed, size is stated (50ml), the recycle symbol is shown and finally there is a black and white bar-code on there. Nice enough, simple packaging and a nice size bottle ta boot!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle....
Angel Fish says: 'Sleek Fish kicks the butt of unwanted frizz whilst reviving tired hair and split ends leaving your style revitalised, smooth and full of shine! Gives an ultra-sexy high gloss finish. Ideal for straight or curly hair'.
Directions For Use....
Apply a pea-sized amount to dry hair to smooth ends and add shine. Do not rinse out. Tip: Add a small amount to wet hair to make it easier to comb through.
My Experience Using The Product...
Well this is really simple to use! All you do is style your hair and use this really as a last product or before fixing or hair spray (if desired). So I get my hair as perfect looking as possible and dispense a really small amount of the clear gel.
Consistency wise it's runny but not like water or anything and hard to handle and it does have a little bit of body to it so it doesn't run out of hands or anything but it certainly isn't a hard gel. So I simply rub it gently between my hands and it feels quite greasy really. The smell is gorgeous. I mean really, really lovely and when you use this if you have other scented products on your hair this completely takes over smell wise and not just for a short time but it smells heavily fragrant till you wash it out meaning other people can really smell this till you wash it out. The smell is of coconut so quite tropical but quite sweet meaning it really isn't harsh or overpowering or anything and it's yummy to me!
I then lightly and very gently smooth it through my hair and a little goes a very long way with this. It's easy to apply and not mess up but like any serum you have to pay attention to what your doing and go easy on the amount your applying because too much can feel and look greasy of course and weigh the hair down to much leaving it greasy and lifeless and it's best that if you use a little and want more you can of course apply it but you can't take away any if you go wrong!
The Results...
Amazing! It's simple to use and doesn't leave hands greasy after using it, just can wipe them but I don't actually as I love the smell and my hands feel well soft lol My hair appears gently hydrated and healthy and it's touchably soft and what is nice is that me, well when I have this on my hair I can't stop touching it and running my fingers through it and no product (greasy residue transfers at all). It gives amazing gloss that looks natural and again in a none greasy way. I do avoid my grease prone roots and I think you do have to be sensible using it so this is best on frizzy and dry hair types really or apply a dab where needed the most.
It smooths my hair and holds it all in place. Frizz is banished, style is held and no cows lick or kiss curls pop up over time, it simply makes your hair behave itself. I can't say my hair feels natural. No. It feels a 100 times better! Hair I want to play with and I can! My style stays put with humidity, frizz don't ping anywhere and with this my ends are nourished and soft and I suffer with broken hairs near my scalp, well this integrates them into my hair giving a red carpet look. Yep it's that good and worth every single penny of it's price tag and what's more is with the small amount you need per application to achieve great results this is a very economical product indeed. It washes out easily, leaving no tell tale signs or residue and all round it's just beautiful to use!
Summary: Brilliant but I must stop stroking my hair!
