Advantages: Good shampoo, amazingly cheap, lasts a long time

Disadvantages: None particularly, though there are a couple of shampoos in the world that I prefer

Finding myself terribly low on both money and shampoo a few months ago, I decided to look for a cheap new shampoo in Asda, in the hope that it would at least be good enough to do until I could afford something better. Browsing the beauty aisle in my local Asda, I came across this 750ml bottle of Citrus shampoo for only 57p, and since this seemed like an incredible bargain, I bought it.

I didn't really have the highest of hopes for this shampoo, as there's not many things that you can get for 57p that are outstanding quality (except for chocolate, of course). I knew from the bottle that it was citrus flavoured, and to be honest I sort of expected it to smell a bit like lemon-scented cleaning products. This shampoo, however, surpassed all of my expectations, and is actually brilliant.

Using this shampoo is very simple - pour some onto your hands in the bath or shower and massage it into your hair, wash off, and repeat as necessary. This shampoo has a very runny consistency, and I found that quite a lot came out of the bottle at once, but as I have long hair this is exactly what I needed anyway. Once or twice I managed to get out a smaller amount, and found that it cleaned my hair well even when I didn't use as much of it. After washing my hair with this shampoo in the morning, my hair stayed nice and clean all day, and it wasn't until evenings that my hair started to look past its best. That might not sound too great for people who only wash their hair a couple of times a week, but since I have the type of hair which needs washing everyday, I can't really expect anything more from a shampoo of any price.

As well as the usage, I was impressed with the smell of this shampoo. It didn't smell anything like cleaning products, as I had worried, and in fact smelt refreshing and very lemony, and filled my shower with a pleasant scent while I washed my hair. After I'd washed and dried my hair, I could still smell the citrus scent on my hair when I sniffed it for a couple of hours, though I couldn't sense it without making the effort to.

So, in conclusion, this is a great shampoo, especially when you consider that it only costs 57p. My 750ml bottle lasted me for almost 3 months, though I reckon I could have gotten it to last longer if I'd used slightly less of it each day. I would recommend this shampoo to anyone who is a bit strapped for cash at the moment, or who fancies trying something new. I liked this shampoo so much that I decided to try the Apple version, which I also loved, but as far as I know these are the only two products in this range. I would probably buy this shampoo again, especially when I'm short on money, though I'm going to try some other shampoos from elsewhere first to see if I can find something even better!

Summary: A great value lemony shampoo from Asda.
