Advantages: Smells lovely, leaves hair soft, cheap

Disadvantages: Made colour look dull

As I had already purchased a bottle of ASDA's Natural Extracts Shampoo, I decided to buy the conditioner as well, as I do prefer to use matching products where possible. The main reason behind the decision was that I'm trying to cut back and spend less, and this was very cheap! It also smelled a lot nicer than the pink one from the same range.

This particular conditioner is designed for coloured hair, and the bottle tells me it will help maintain colour and shine.

The conditioner comes in a quite plain looking clear bottle, with a picture of fruit on the front and a dark green flip top cap. It's not exactly an exciting design, but it's functional and for the price you can't expect much more.

Like the matching shampoo, this conditioner has an amazing smell. The mango and papaya scent is very strong and fresh, and really reminds me of summer. It's not really a synthetic fruity scent, it does smell natural and it really wakes you up too.

The conditioner is orange in colour and is a nice consistency. I'd say it's quite thin, but at the same time is not runny, and not so thin that I feel it's having no impact on my hair. There is also no need to leave it on for any length of time, which is great for when you're in a rush.

I have very long, thick hair which needs a good conditioner to keep it de-tangled and manageable, and I find that this one does the job well. I never have tangles in my hair after washing it, and it always feels very smooth and soft after using this. I would say that it makes my hair more manageable and slightly tames some of the frizz I get, although I must admit not all of it.

Unfortunately, like the shampoo, I find that after using this my hair looks quite dull. It's dyed dark brown and the colour tends to look not faded exactly, but just not very bright. Thankfully, having frizz prone hair I apply a lot of shine enhancing products to my hair anyway, like serums and sprays so this is not a huge issue as my hair still looks shiny, however I imagine it would be a real problem for many people.

A 400ml bottle of this conditioner costs £1 from ASDA, which I think is pretty good.

This does smell lovely and it gets my hair feeling great and particularly soft after use. The main negative is that I feel my hair is left looking quite dull after using this, but otherwise it's a good product and I'd use it again.

Summary: OK, but only if you regularly use glossing products!
