Advantages: works really well, cheap

Disadvantages: none

I use hair serum very regularly as my long, thick hair is prone to frizz, and serums are pretty much the only thing that will make it look half presentable! I'm not too fussy on brand of serum, and I decided to give this one a try simply because I was placing an order on the ASDA website and this was the cheapest hair serum they sold.

The serum comes in a small purple bottle with a silver and lime green design on the front. I think ASDA have attempted to make the packaging look contemporary, however I think they've failed, as to be honest I think it simply looks cheap. Despite it's appearance, the packaging is functional and has a plastic pump which works well and does not become clogged.

To use you simply dispense one or two pumps of the serum into your hands, rub together and then smooth over your hair. As with all serums less is more, and using too much of this product will leave hair looking greasy.

Although the serum does have a slight citrussy scent to it, it's very subtle and you can't really smell it either on your hands or when you have applied it to your hair.

The results I got from this product were very impressive. To be honest I wasn't really expecting too much from a Supermarket own brand hair styling product, so I was more than surprised. This product not only smoothed the frizz on my hair, but as it's name suggests left it looking lovely and glossy, yet the shine was subtle and didn't look too over the top or greasy.

Also, the results I get from this are long lasting and I don't need to re-apply it throughout the day.

I think the most impressive thing about this product has got to be the price. A 50ml bottle of this costs just £1.97 from ASDA. I've used hair serums costing four times that price which have been rubbish, so to find one that works for less than £2 is exceptional.

So overall, this product gets a big thumbs up from me, and it's definitely a product I'd recommend to others.

Summary: Well worth a try
