Hard Hold, not much styling range. (Asda Smart Price Hairgel)

Advantages: The hard hold.

Disadvantages: Its watery and doesnt style.

I'm not usually a fan of using supermarket own brand hair gel however the cost of other branded hair products are becoming more and more expensive. So i bought the tub of asda styling gel for a mere 27pence. For this price I thought I would give it a go and if it wasn't very good I could use it for "emergencies" if I run out of my usual product. The gel is coloured blue and has a fragrant smell. Its consistency is rather thin and watery and slides of the hand easily so a generous amount is needed to gain an acceptable level of hardness. The hold this gel gives is very good but is not great for working hair into different styles. This would be best suited for short, thin hair styling as it is difficult to get any sort of control of the style you would want. It should maybe be applied alongside another product so you can help hold a style in place.

Summary: Value for money simply for the good hold.
