Cheap and cheerless (Asda Smart Price Shampoo)

I don't have much hair, but I do use shampoo. My wife uses a posh one and I don't want to waste it, so I bought a bottle of this.

First impressions are awful; plain white bottle looks like some industrial chemical, but for 12p what can you say?

The look takes me back twenty years to the cheap shampoo of my childhood. It's cream in colour, thick and oily looking with a sweet but obviously artificial smell. Again, not a good start.

Finally, it lathers well, washes well, but leaves your hair feeling a bit abrasive and rough.

The smell is actually quite nice. It smells like all cheap shampoo seems to, but that's OK. It reminds me of swimming pools and the shampoo smell of the changing rooms (yes I know I am a bit weird there).

All in all, it's so cheap and I would recommend it for budget conscious guys or kids but the women deserve better methinks!

In my own opinion, a lot of hair products are overpriced, and this one is one of the few that is cheap by all standards. If you are the sort of person (like me) who washes your hair but doesn't want to be spending a lot on it I think this is ideal. Also, I would recommend it for when you go on holiday or swimming, as a product you can afford to leave behind or bin when used. It's not very nice packing away a wet and slippery bottle, and there's always the likelihood it could spill over, so I would have to say that no-one would feel back about throwing away a bottle that cost just 12p in this situation.
