Advantages: Soft, shiny hair again.

Disadvantages: Having to fight off the admirers! (Well, nothing wrong with a day dream!)

%% Never thought I'd have to say this but... %%

Well, I guess it comes to us all (unless you're really lucky in which case you owe me an "nom" out of sheer audacity for reading and gloating!) and I have here to publicly admit that Cutecandy has discovered one or two (to the power of a lot!) greying.....oh, okay, very grey hairs! Sob! My once jet black locks are happily stepping aside in favour of the more senior look and I have finally succumbed to the bottle of home dye. I have had lots of fun trying different brands and also experimented with lots of industrial strength bathroom cleaners, but more of those in later reviews.

My first review concerning this new stage of life must be devoted to this gorgeous bottle of Aussie stuff which has rendered the whole sorry process a positive treat!

%% The Aussie 3 minute Miracle Colour Conditioner %%

First off it has to be said that after some colour treatments my gorgeous locks feel even better than before - there are some good after care tubes with many of them. I have found, however that a couple of days in my hair is lack lustre and in need of some tlc. Time to grab this unusual bottle off the shelf.

%%Packaging%%

The distinctive bottle is so predominantly because of its upside-down-ness. (No corny geographical jokes permitted!) I may be easily amused, but I really love the fact that the bottle stands on its head - in other words the conditioner leaves the bottle via the end it has been standing on. No frustrating minutes standing in the cold shower waiting for the stuff to drip its lazy way down the bottle.

Furthermore, it has no lid! All you have to do is pull open the tapered bit you see in the pic and squeeze. No chasing lids through the whirling suds and no flicking of the tab bit that hasn't been made to last.

Plus: it has built in holding grips! Evidently aimed at the 40 something plus of us who are beginning to crumble - it has textured grips on the side of the bottle to help you keep hold even with wet, soapy hands!

When nearing the end of the bottle it's not always easy to squeeze out the final splodges, but the base is very easy to remove and so you can add water to flush out the very last pennies worth.

%% And the next exciting installment?...%%

I know that this may all be a bit much excitement first thing in the morning, but believe me, the fun has only just begun!

The next thing you'll notice about this product is the smell. The label tells us that the conditioner contains a hint of "Australian wild peach". Not sure how appealing this sounds, but it is in fact a heavenly aroma. It's not peachy in the usual sense (which can be over poweringly sweet and cloying) but somewhat more nutty (a bit like the brazil nut goodies that body shop used to pedal but sadly do so no more).

When you give the bottle a good squeeze you are rewarded with a big glob of white creamy splodge. Not attractive? Au contraire! The smell is enticing and the creamy texture spreads easily through your hair - it feels immediately smooth.

It is almost a shame that it works in only 1-3 minutes as it does feel rather luxurious and the aromatherapy factor is gorgeous. Mind you, it's much more convenient than having to leave it on for ten minutes at a time and means you can treat yourself more often.

%% Price %%

The conditioner prices up at about around £4.50 a bottle. It may seem a bit pricey compared with some, but when you think that there must be at least 10 conditioning experiences in here, it's not badly priced. Being an avid dooyooer and ciaoer of course I didn't pay that much but bought it on offer in Boots. Aussie products have taken many hair care shelves by storm and thus offers are a plenty.

% More Info %

You can find out more about the Aussie brand on
www.aussiehaircare.co.uk where you will find info about their colour / anti-frizz / long hair / moist collections with great bylines such as: "I'm no angel but I have the hair of one" and the rather depressing "I keep my hair as colourful as my past".

Well, I'm not going to tell you about my colourful past (need a couple of gins before that) but I will share with you the fact that after using this product my hair feels soft, glossy and generally healthy. Even my football-... sorry work-focussed other half has noticed!

%% Verdict %%

Avid readers amongst you may have deduced that I rather like this stuff. It does the business for me in terms of ergonomics, aroma, thriftyness and effectiveness. I have read about some for whom it has not been so effective - I guess in the end it just depends on your hair type and all you can do is try it. If you find its not as fab result for you then feel free to send it on to a good home...mine!

Thanks for reading!
